Our family lines might cross but it would have been several generations back or a laterally because I don't have Ochoa or Rivas in my line. You wouldn't happen to have more details on your family that lives in La Palma by any chance?

My late maternal grandmother's maiden name was Buenrostro. Her name was Guadalupe Buenrostro Rivas (Ochoa). I think she originated from Jalisco, but has family in La Palma, Michoacan Mx... Her late sister Maria Buenrostro Rivas.

I am trying to find out who Cirocid Buentrostros Hernandez was. I recieved a religious card in loving memory of this person who died in 2006. I never knew this person but its interested how this card got to me.

My name is Maria S. Buenrostro. My father was Napoleon Buenrostro. My father's family's origin is in Colima, however living in the Municipality of Tonila, Jalisco. They own lots of land surrounding two volcanoes that are landmarks in Colima. I was told by my father the story of the ships and our origins. I also recall that our great grandfather was a Colonel and later promoted to General and then Governor of Colima, MX. There is a story I learned about how my great grandfather, mostly referred to as "El Coronel" (Jose Maria Buenrostro) for his victory against "Los Cristeros." I also recall the story how he helped found Quitupan, and his cousin was Efrain Buenrostro and he went to work with President Lazaro Cardenas. They revolutionized the petroleum industry amongst other things. I find this all fascinating. I will try to scan some pictures and share. They were quite good looking! :)

the Buenrostro family is in one way shape or form related to each other our ancestors came spain on a boat and landed on jalisco mexico and spread to michoacan mexico.

I live in San Antonio, Texas, and I have never came across anyone with my last name. My dad gave me my last name( only child/ unknown) I'm 25 with three kids that will now pass down the buenrostro name. It is a very rare name. Cool to know there are others.

Hello Joe Vito. You are the first to respond to my message.I know your parents but have not seen them since I was a teenager...I am now 50 years old.
"Uncle Hecky" is my father Mario Hector, who by the way is still alive and kicking. His mother Luz Ortega passed away in May of 2008 at the age of 96. I only have information back to Petra's grandparents, Eulajio Buenrostro and Maria
Ortega. I have border crossing documentation about Romulo,
Josefa Ramos and several children coming over in 1918. They came from San Luis Potosi. I also have marriage documentation for Romulo and Josefa being married in Villa de Hidalgo, San Luis Potosi. I am at a standstill as my father was not very familiar with relatives. I would love to share any and all information with you. Please feel free to email me at Peeps40@aol.com.

Hello,
My name is Joseph Vito Guerra Son of Rudy & Margie Guerra of San Antonio. Margie's maiden name was Buenrostro and was raised by her aunt Petra Buenrostro. Margie's father was Mauro Buenrostro. Petra's other siblings included Jose Vito, Romulo, Tomas and Juan. I have no official documentation, but legend has it, they came from a a town called Villa Hidalgo in San Luis Potosi in the early 1900s.

Would love to learn more and exchange info.

My name is Joe Vito Guerra. My dad was Rudy Guerra & my mom is Margie Guerra. Her maiden name was Buenrostro. Mauro was her father and she had a brother named Mauro, too. I remember an "Uncle Hecky" when I was a kid. Was that your dad? Margie's mom, died when Margie was a teenager and she was raised by Petra Buenrostro who had brothers named Joe Vito, who I was named after, Romulo, Johnny & Tomas. They were all from San Luis Potosi. I'd love to hear everything you know about the family.

Hi my name is Samanth and my mother is Yolanda Elena Buenrostro. I know that there are Buenrostros and Merlos (cousins) in Whittier Ca and in Ensenada. We all pretty much stay in touch. One of the Buenrostros is in tijuana mx. he's famous surgeon Carlos Buenrostro. He has two brothers in Ensenada named Rodolfo and Jaime and a few sisters I think one of them is Maite. not too sure, they dont really like to hang out, somewhat stuck up from what i've heard. There's still one of the older Buenrostros in Ensenada as well Maria Buenrostro had a brother Mario Buenrostro who when he came to the US he had to change his name to Jauri. if you need to know more about this part of the Buenrostros let me know, i'll begin to search.
