YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Olga Marie Abruzzi, 95, peacefully and quietly passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at The Inn at Christine Valley, Youngstown, Ohio.

Olga was born May 6, 1915, in Tunnelton, Pa., and was the daughter of Amato and Leonetta Vallecorsa Bufalini.

She lived briefly in Detroit, Michigan with her sister, Elsie Bufalini.
She later returned to Tunnelton and married Guerino “Greenie” Abruzzi in nearby Saltsburg, in 1938.
The couple relocated to Warren, Ohio where they raised their family and lived out their lives. Along with partners Orazio and Mary Rossi, Olga and Greenie were co-founders of the popular Café 422 in Warren, later renamed Abruzzi’s Café 422.

Not only did Olga raise and care for her immediate family, she played an important role in caring for many relatives and friends that Greenie brought from Italy to America who lived temporarily with her family.

Olga and Greenie took many vacations to Collelongo, Italy and to their second residence in St. Pete Beach, Fla.

Olga will be dearly missed by her children, Robert (Marilyn) Abruzzi of Warren, Richard (Jeanine) Abruzzi of Howland, Ohio, Russell Abruzzi of Boston and Anita (Joe) Huenke of Safety Harbor, Fla.; grandchildren, Brian (Hally) Abruzzi, Marlene (Warren) Orloff, Tia (Stu) Henderson; Bradley (Kate) Abruzzi and Carlin and Claire Huenke; great-grandchildren, Julia and Dean Orloff, Max, Leo and Lilyanne Henderson and Jack, Lila and Sabrina Abruzzi.

Olga is survived by sisters, Anna (John) Baciu of Warren, Ohio, Iola Gasparini of Saltsburg, Pa., Emma Boutette of Taylor, Michigan, Leona Poff of Lady Lake, Fla.; and brothers, Leonardo (Ester) Bufalini of Blairsville, Pa. and Harry (Jan) Bufalini of Avonmore, Pa.

Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Guerino; her parents; her second mother, Chiara Stefanacci Bufalini; sisters, Elsie Bufalini, Virginia Ritchey; brothers, Edward, Oresto, Anthony, Louie, Carl Bufalini; and numerous and cherished nieces, nephews and in-laws.

The Abruzzi family will receive family and friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, March 4, 2011, and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren, OHIO

Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, material contributions can be made to a favorite charity.
