Theodore Alexander Bugg RCAF

Seeking surviving relatives of Theodore Alexander Bugg born April 16, 1920 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Mr. Bugg served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Typhoon Pilot 438 Squadron and was killed in action Aug 12/44 in Normandy, France.
A group of dedicated volunteer Frenchmen are planning to erect a memorial in his honor.

So first of all when was Caroline born? what year was Louisa born? Was it in Gloucestershire?

Do you have the full records (I don't have access to it) of the 1851 census?

Hi Mary Jane,
Louisa was christened on the same day as Henry and Caroline's Wedding. Obviously they couldn't marry if the child wasn't christened. I don't think that Henry Gardner is the father as his name is not mentioned. Louisa was already 5yrs at this time. She is also mentioned in the 1851 census as the neice of Anthony and Henry Smart, and her name was Louisa 'Smart'. Caroline was at work.
The marriage and the chrisyening all happened just before they immigrated to Tasmania.
Anthony followed them out, I believe.
There were two more brothers, Thomas (1824-1899) & Henry (1827)- already mentioned in the census.
I have gone back a few more generations if you haven't got them.
Louisa Smart/Gardner is my G.G.Grandmother.

I went online to the 'Archives Office of Tasmania'. and typed in Louisa Smart.
I then typed in Louisa King.
The children named are: Lucy Martha Maud (1878), Louisa Sarah (1879), Sarah Ann (1880), Frederick Robert (1880),
Philip Knight (1881), Louisa (1883), Ellis Ernest (1885), Violet May (1888), Elizabeth Ethel (1890), Lily Marian (1893), Daisy Matilda (1895) & Charlotte Rose (1898).
There are many links to other families.
May I ask where you looked online?

I did have Louisa married first to James King on 14 Nov 1873, then Philip Knight Bugg on 17 Apr 1877.

I didn't know about a child she had to James King!

I already had Anthony Smart b. abt 1825 England d. 16 Mar 1896 ans also Sarah STANCHCOMBE (you spelt her surname as STINCHCOMBE) b. 1836 Horton. Tas. I just hadn't connected Louisa as their daughter.

I have now added Louisa to the other 9 siblings...Sarah Ann (m. Charles Bugg), Jessie (m. Elizabeth Harvey), Frederick, Lucy Mary (m. Benjamin GARDNER), William Henry (m. Mary Ann Hay), Emily, Edward Allan, Albert Anthony, Maude Caroline.

Who are you linked to in the Smart clan?

Hi Mary Jane,
I have just had a look online for Tasmania and have found a Louisa Smart, b.@1854, who married James E King at Emu Bay in 1873 and had a daughter Louisa Mary A Sarah King, born and died at Emu Bay in 1874.

A Louisa King, b.@1855 married Phillip Knight Bug in 1877 at Emu Bay and they had 12 children.

So yes, I presume that the two Louisa's are the same person.

Grandparents: William Samrt & Mary Cornwell
GGrandparents: Nathaniel Smart & Alice Mallard
GGrandparents: Nathaniel Smart & Mary ?
Anthony immigrated from Hawkesbury, Gloucestershire, England to Emu Bay, Tasmania. His sister, Caroline, also immigrated to Emu Bay with her husband Charles Gardner.

My grandfather, Matthew Bugg aka Mathis was born in Saluda, SC in the early 1900's. He was married to Demmie Bugg also of Saluda. I recently learned the names of his siblings. my mother was born in scotland. my mom is44 born in 64.. my grandma was married 5 times.. most ofthem were army guys.. my grandma was born in 1942. and just passed away in 2006.. dorthy ann mays was her name .. she went by scotty... from my understandning she was scottish as well... i have 2 aunts but there from diffrent fathers. like i ssaid my grandma was married 5 times.. justlooking for m y mothers side ..

I am searching for the parents and family origins of Susan Bugg, who was born in 1818 in Creeting All Saints, Suffolk, England. She married John Forsdike ( b. 1819 in Needham, Market, Suffolk, England ). Their children were:

1. Elizabeth: b. 1844 in Needham Market.

2. Rebecca: b. Mar. 18, 1852 in Creeting St. Mary; married Henry Barrett on Sept. 26, 1874 in Staten Island, New York. She died on Feb. 23, 1929 in Danielson, Connecticut.

3. Rhoda: b. 1855 in Creeting St. Mary.

4. Mary: b. 1857 in Creeting St. Mary.

Hi, I'm look for information on a William Jesse Bugg, Born in Missouri, His Wife maiden name was Edna Wright born in Mo.
They had a Son name Claude or Caludy O. born abt 1888 and was married to Edna Plydela Wright, Daughter of John Leachman and Martha Allen. Claude Died in Moberly, Mo on
Sep 27, 1933..He fell into a water & cinder pit at a Rail Road yard. If you have any infor about his Brother, and Sister. or his William Dad and Mon. I like to know.

Hi. I'm related to the Smart family. Caroline Smart was the sister of Anthony Smart. They all settled in Emu Bay, Tasmania. Caroline married Henry Gardner. Caroline's daughter, Louisa, married into the Till family. Louisa appears in the English census staying with Anthony. I have info and some photos of this side if you would like them.

I have a large family of Buggs, with a Joseph born 1885 in Islington, London, who resided in Leichhardt, Sydney, a nearby suburb to Guilford. Joseph died at Parramatta 1958. Joseph's parents were William Bugg, b 1853 and Sarah Durrant, b 1857.
Are these likely to be your family?
