I don't know if there are any photos of their wedding reception around still but my family doesn't have any from that day. I have only been able to find some old newspaper articles concerning the wedding but no photos :( If I find any in the future I will let you know since your great aunt Elsie was in the wedding party and a close friend and co-worker of Anastasia :)

Hi,
I'm not sure of your first name, but I am Ron Bliss. We do have the same great grandfather. Your grandfather, Frank Buhl, was a brother to my grandmother, Minnie Buhl (Bliss). Our great-great grandfather's name was Antone Herman Buhl.

I also grew up in Anaconda and have been to your home once long ago. I remember your dad coming to my dad's funeral in Anaconda in January 1963. My dad's name was Frank Bliss.

I have a lot of genealogical data on the Buhl family. I have it all the way back to our 8th great grandfather, Johann Peter Buhl, who was born in 1620 and died in Nov. 1679.

A few years ago I traveled to Germany and was lucky to stumble upon a cousin of ours in Siegerfeld, Germany. She was the one who was able to get all the information to me. She is no longer a Buhl, but her mother was born a Buhl. I also met her mother and a couple of her mother's sisters.

If you would like to receive the information I have, I would be happy to send it to you if you give me your address.

I would also appreciate receiving any info you have on your grandfather's family including your own family.

We now spend half the year in Kennewick, Washington and half the year in Arizona, so we are in Arizona right now.

Sorry for taking so long to respond to your inquiry, but we have really been busy with my ailing mother-in-law.

Thanks again for the contact and would be happy to help any way I can.

Ron Bliss

I have seen her refered to as Mrs. Libby Alby-Bull in Mary Baldwin College Alunmae publications. The following is from the 1921 Mary Baldwin Seminary Alumnae Association Bulletin.

"As announced in the Bulletin last year, Virginia Alby
Bull, daughter of Mrs. Libby Alby-Bull, an honor graduate
of the class of 1888 and a missionary in Korea, was chosen
as the Alumnae Association's first Missionary Scholarship
pupil. She entered the Seminary in September 1920. The
Committee has kept closely in touch with her and with
her work throughout the year and believes that she will
prove a credit to the Association. Two of our most inter-
ested Alumnae, who, as members of the faculty, were
closely associated with Virginia, recommended that she
be given the Scholarshop another year. The Missionary
Scholarship Committee meeting with the Executive Com-
mittee, acted favorably upon this recommendation, so
Virginia Bull will return in September to undertake her
second year's work.

My Great Grandfather/Grandmother were Manley Medland Westlotorn and Henrietta Buhl. They were married in New York and are buried in the Green-wood cemetary in Brooklyn, New York. I don't have the dates with me. The name Handy appears in some of the old family record and are connected to Henrietta. I belive she was married before she married my grandfather. She had a daughter named Isabel Handy who died as a child (age 10). contact me at cmcdonald@folsom.ca.us
Thanks, Celia

I don't know if Manley Medland Westlotorn had any siblings. He is the link that I cannot tie to the Canada side of the family. I have traced the family back to the 1600's in Devon England, and the name Medland is part of that side of the tree. But again, I have been having trouble tying the USA Westlotorns, to the Devon Westlotorn's but I believe some went into Canada and then into New York and Washington State. Who are you? Where do you fit into the Westlotorns? Is the Greenwood plot you are talking about the same one my Great-Grandfather--Manley Medland Westlotorn and Henrietta Buhl-Westlotorn are buried in? The name Annie rings a bell, and there are a lot of Westlotorn's from Canada.
Celia

Actually, its Theodore DeLong Buhl II. He had a brother of the same name that was still born the year prior to his birth in 1902. Willis Edward Buhl's father, Theodore DeLong Buhl, was my great great grandfather. He married Julia Elizabeth Walker, daughter of Hiram Walker, the liquor magnate. Theodore, or T.D. as he was referred as, went on to co-found the Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical co., now a part of Pfizer. Theodore's father was Christian Henry Buhl, the first Republican mayor of Detroit.
There is a book entitled "The Story of Christian Buhl and his descendants" written by Gertrude Ziegler in 1991 that can give you more information if needed.
Arthur Buhl Hudson Jr.

Henry BUHL; Syracuse - Brooklyn, NY

Hoping to help someone; I am going through some paperwork that I have collected and came across the following; from an obit book at the Onondaga County Library: (believe the date to be 1915/very faint)

Henry Buhl Succumbs from Grief for His Brother-in-law

Alone when told over telephone of Relative's Demise-takes to bed and fails to rally...
Shock and grief over the death of hs brother-in-law four days before, it is believed, caused the death of Henry Buhl, 57, a resident of the North Side for twenty-nine years, who passed away at his nome, No. 915 Butternut Street, yesterday morning. Mr. Buhl had been in ill health seven years, suffering from heart trouble.
His brother-in-law, Louis McLaughlin, died Wednesday at his home at Rome after an illness of a short time. A telephone message announcing the death of Mr. McLaughlin was received by Mr. Buhl Wednesday, and shortly afterward he was compelled to take to his bed. He failed rapidly and died at 11:30 o'clock yesterday.
Mrs. Buhl and her son, Carl Buhl, went to Rome Saturday to attend the funeral of Mr. McLaughlin, and they were called home that night by the serious illness of Mr. Buhl.
When the message was received Wednesday, Mr. Buhl was the only member of the family that was at home, and the shock was great. He was born in Brooklyn and when a young man he went to Rome with his parents. He remained there five years, and then came to this city. He was a member of Lincoln Lodge No. 180, I.O?O.F.
Besides his widow and son he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank Ouderkirk, Elizabeth and Margaret Buhl, his father, Carl Buhl, of Brooklyn, two brothers, Charles Buhl of Rich?? Hill, L.I. and Jacob Buhl of Brooklyn. Funeral services will be held??? (illegible)
