Wow so they called John by "Jack"! On their Silver wedding Anniversary he is listed as John, as in his death notice. Have I mentioned I live in their house and it is called Brooklyn? My guess is that Sophia named it as her dad had settled there as a oyster farmer before the rest of the family came to Australia.
Have you read about their trip? They were detained as there was a break out of some fever but were content to have arrived, no complaints. There were deaths and births during their journey, so different to day!
The bullets I imagined are from back then, so I romanticise they are Robert's.
We recently pulled off a new ceiling and found the old one that they would have had.
The reason I am looking is to find any descendants to show them the title of the house which is still in tact and original, also would love an image of Sophia and "Jack" to hang in the house.
They are indeed listed as being from Speymouth, Elgin and Kingston on Spey and Morayshire . This is what it says on the Saturday 2 February 1918
