Harold Raymond Bull Jr., 71,
of Chapin St., Jamestown,
died May 10, 2008 in WCA Hospital.
He was born Dec. 22, 1936 in Clymer, the son of Harold R. Sr. and Eva May Hayes Bull. He attended schools in Clymer and Sugar Grove, Pa.
Prior to retiring in 2001, he had been employed as the grounds foreman at Lake View Cemetery,
where he had worked for 38 years.
Harold had been active as a member of the Allegheny Highlands Council of the Boy Scouts of America since 1977. He had been a scoutmaster, committee chairman, and unit commissioner with Troop 162, and was a committee member for the Two Lakes District.
He received many awards and completed many levels of leader training. He was a merit badge counselor for First Aid, Emergency Preparedness, and Safety. He was always willing to transport scouts for various events, and never let a Beaver day go by without helping out at Camp Merz. He also served on the Eagle Board of Review from 1980 to present.
In 1988 Harold received The Whispering Pines District Award or Merit,
and in 1990 received the Silver Beaver Award. In 2003 Harold was honored by the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County for being the Allegheny Highlands Council Volunteer of the Year. He was always available for the Scouts, the Service Center, and whoever might need his help. He was truly a “Scouter’s Scout”.
Harold also enjoyed his time spent with his family, and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren gave him his greatest joy. He will also be remembered for the enthusiasm and work ethic that he always brought to any job he undertook.
