Found this entry while searching for my ancestors: http://www.mendonutah.net/cemetery_index/b.htm
that mentions Joseph Marvel Bullock. I am wondering if he is related to Lucile Clayton Bullock, who is also from Utah, and is my great-great grandmother. If they are related, I have tons of information on them, and I would be happy to share!

Re: Henderson Bullock/ Rachel James

Hi, Neal, I am Cindy Arnold Rorie. Mark's brother William David was my great grandfather. He married Sarah Miranda "Sally" Barnett of Prentiss County,MS. A lot of this branch of the family still lives in Prentiss County, MS.
As for Henderson being married to Susan Lavenia James. I have run this everyway it can be run. Susan James married a man from Missouri and moved to Texas. She is buried in Texas. Another myth is that she changed her name to Rachel to hide who she actually was. I have searched every record I can find and have found no proof that this is true. We have a cousin that is dead set that this myth is the truth but there is no evidence to prove him right. You can look up the James Family history in Missouri and find all the information on who Susan James married and what part of Texas they moved to.
I am still trying to find something on Henderson's parents and as soon as I find out something, you will get the information.
You can contact me directly at roriecindy@yahoo.com

Re: Henderson Bullock/ Rachel James

I am also interested in the father of Henderson. It is my understanding that Rachel James was the Aunt to Jesse James the outlaw.

A few years ago there was a Rex Bullock that had more information on this line. I have tried the past three years to make contact with him, without success.

My BULLOCK line has been the most obscure line to research (no contacts searching this line). I only know that Marcus (Mark) my G-Grandfather, born 1874 in Alabama (his daughter, my Grandmother Shellie Bell BULLOCK married my Grandfather William (Will) Simpson BISHOP), and Mark’s father Henderson, born about 1824 in Tennessee and his parents were born in North Carolina. If you have info on Henderson (mother, father, etc.), I would love to exchange info on what I have with you. If you are in contact with others researching this BULLOCK line, please give them my contact info and have them contact me.

Mark married Rebecca (Becky) Clark about 1896. Although the 1930 Census indicates that he was married to someone else, I believe that is a transcription mistake by the Census Taker (because the info is duplicated from a few lines down, which BTW is my Grandparents, Will and Shellie). For my Dad said that Mark was married to Rebecca until he died in 1937. Also, Rebecca’s mother, Martha was living with them in the 1900 and 1910 Census, lost them in the 1920 Census.

Any help will put me one step closer to getting through this genealogy wall.

Thanks,
Neal

Trying to locate a Barbara who emailed me about this Bullock/Williams family. IF you are Barbara, your email dm1945dm at yahoo does not work. To everyone else, Elizabeth Williams was the daughter of Phillip and Elizabeth Williams of Llantarnam. Phillip and Elizabeth (Roberts) were married Feb 13 1797, Trostrey , Monmouthshire. Phillip probably the son of Walter and Mary Williams of Llanbaddock who were married Abergavenny, Mon, NOv 21 1758.
Phillip and Elizabeth had 9 children, Elizabeth the fourth- she was christened May 23 1802 Llangibby, Monmouthshire- she married John Bullock in 1818 and died in 1843. I have plenty more on the Williams family if you are interested. Barbara, if you read this, please repsond through Ancestry or from another email account! Lots to share- Diane Land

Larry, I just found this when I did an internet search for my own name. My aunt June died late last year in Taft California. She was living under an alias. Her legal birth name was Elda June Rhynes. I believe she was born in OK somewhere but she was the right age. My dad Clifton Eugene Rhynes was born in Bakersfield Ca. in 1938 and June was about 10 years older so she would have been about 21 or so at your birth and the right age when you posted this letter. My dad unfortunately passed in 1992. You can contact me at scottrhynes2000@yahoo.com or my mom pugladybev@yahoo.com for more info.

I am thinking that my grandfather, Charlie Malcolm Bullock had a brother named Earnest Bullock. As well as a Frank Louis Bullock who married and lived in McComb, MS. I believe Franks children were all girls. Jan Bullock Whitehead was one of the girls. I can't remember the sisters names. Charlie had a brother named Morriss who was extremely tall. I have a photo of him in my albumn. That is all the info I have right now. I can get more info if needed.

I am looking for information on the death date of Hawkins Sherman Bullock. The information I have says he died somewhere between 1840 to 1902. I am trying to find out the exact date. He was born in 1812 in Madison County in Georgia. He was buried on Spratlin Mill Rd. in Hull, Georgia. He did not have a headstone to mark his grave. His grave was marked by rocks only with no date. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jim Bullock
I am searching for information on Susannah Bullock who married Joshua Killebrew. I believe her parents were David Bullock and Elizabeth Hood. After Joshua died in 1793, she remarried at least once to Elijah Horn. She possibly married Joseph Thigpen. Can anyone verify these marriages and provide information about Elijah and Joseph?

Did Susannah have a brother David Bullock who married Frances Murry Killebrew? Who were her parents?

Did Susannah and David have a sister Elizabeth who married Lawrence Killebrew?

my Grandmother had a family tree showing James and Delilah as her great or great great grandparents. Her maiden name was Hall. Supposedly James was the brother of Sam Houston(the famous one) and Delilah was a full blooded Cherokee. I have been to the place where they are buried at buzzard roost. It is in a patch of trees on the Tollett property. Their stone is about the only one still standing and legible due mostly to vandalism. As far as Delilah goes, we don't know anything beyond her. If James is the brother the famous Sam Houston, then no problem there. Just in discussion on our part, we figured that maybe Delilah could have been one of the ones that did not go on the "Trail of Tears" to Oklahoma. Supposedly there were alot of Cherokees that got taken in by local peoples and assumed their names so there would be no record on the governments list of Cherokees. This did happen, is shameful, but true. If you have any info to support or dispute what I have please contact me. My family history really runs out here.

I am trying to trace my family and you may be able to help me. My maternal grandfather was Edward Nelson Bullock. He died in the 1970's. All I know about his father is that his name was John. My Bullocks were in the area of Meridian, MS and I don't know where they would have been before then. There are many "Davids", "Williams" and "Elizabeths" among my cousins, uncles, aunts, etc. Your ancestors being named David and Elizabeth immediately struck a chord. Can you help me with the list of children in your Bible. I would appreciate it. Thank you! Kimberley Royal Gibson Hattiesburg, MS

Just resumed trying to find relatives on my mother's family. My mother's maiden name was Washington. I was told that their orignal name was Bullock but the slave master was nice so the older brother (Bushrod) decided to take the name of Washington while others retained the name of Washington. I know that the father's name was George Washington born in 1810, mother was Rebecca born in 1812 both were born in VA. Some of the children's names were, William, John Henry, Verbena, Anna, Eliza and Lucy Ann.
George was my great-grandfather.
You have requested info on Delilah Bullock. She is my mother's great great grandmother. Mother believes she was a Native American (Cherokee). Her daughter Mary Elizabeth Houston gave birth out of wedlock to Thomas Houston After she married Benjamin F. Kerly, Tom went by the name of Kerly. Tom married Nancy Selby and they had a number of children including my Grandmother, Revie Kerly. What is you connection to this line?

I can not trace anything farther back than Delilah either. I have seen her father listed as Greenberry Bullock but was told that was only a guess based on the fact she had a son named Greenberry. I have heard from family members that her father went by Bull, and that was how they took the last name Bullock, but I don't know the source of this information either. I have seen her birthplace listed as Sparta, Tennessee which is in White County.

My Grandmother Revie Kerley Blaylock had a sister, Ollie Kerley Jeffers. Is this the same person as your grandmother Ola? Their Father, Tom, was born out of wedlock to Elizabeth Houston. She later married Benjamin Kerley and Tom took his name. I think at 1 time all the family went by Kerley but some of the family now go by Houston. I have a bad copy of some old photos spliced together. You may also have this as I think it was handed out at a family reunion. A group picture of 5 brothers, a picture of Alvin, a picture of Nancy & Tom, and a group picture of the 7 Sisters. I also have a copy of a photo of the man the family has acknowledged as Tom's father with his wife. These are on regular paper and are not good quality but I can send them to you by e-mail or fax. You can get in touch with me at reedylds@yahoo.com.

Re: Children of David Rice Bullock and Elizabeth Peck

My grandpa was Melvin Oscar Bullock, born in Hayden, MO, on July 28, 1903. He moved to Iowa as a young man. His brothers' names were Alfred, Oliver, and Lloyd. Any information would be appreciated. My husband and I are going to Hayden, MO, at the end of June 2009 from our home in Kearney, NE. We would like to spend a day there and see what info we can find.
Thanks,
Diane Johnson
womanofwheels@aol.com

Bullocks in Rutland, Lincoln and Cambridge, England

William Death Bullock was born circa 1778 somewhere in England. We found a plaque in St. Mary Magdalene and St. Andrew Church, Ridlington, Rutland, England. He died May 4th, 1837. His wife was Elizabeth who died Dec. 10, 1867, age 91 years and was interred in Thorney Abbey Churchyard, Cambridgeshire.

Does anyone else have Bullocks located in Rutland, Lincoln or Cambridge, England?

Jeanette in Canada
