my gg grandfather Thomas Parke was the brother of Maggie Parke (Parks) If you go into Ancestry and read my family tree you will find all the info on them. In the last few months I have received the obituaries for John and Joseph Bumbarger who are the brothers of Hattie. Maggie remarried a James Hayes and later divorced him. Maggie, John, Joseph are all buried in Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, IA. The family went by Parks and Parke so has taken a little longer to distinquish who's who. Illinois digital archives for marriages shows Maggie married Samuel Bomberger instead of Bumbarger. I have been trying to locate Samuel, but with no luck. I have been in contact with Marshalltown library and they have looked at all the cemeteries in that area and have not been able to locate him. He just disappears. The Parke's moved from Hagerstown, Md to Ogle County, Il then to Grundy Center, Ia and finally to Marshalltown and Albion, IA. I was in Hagerstown, Md in July of 2010 and found the grave of Maggie's brother Albert who died there and is buried in the Church of Brethen cemetery. Very close to Antietam, MD. They all practice the United Brethen religion. Maggie's grandfather whom I believe to Thomas Parke from Ireland is buried in Poshewiek Co., IA. He lived to be 99. I am still trying to find where in Ireland they came from but with not much luck. I believe they were Scot Irish but not absolutely postive. Some people have put our Parks with the Parks that were related to Martha Washington but I can't confirm that and will not use until I am sure. I have obituaries for Thomas Parke and his wife Amy Stouffer Parke and am trying to see if there is an obituary for John Parke. I have located if I remember right all of Maggie's brothers and sisters. Maggie's mother was Rebecca Sigler (Siegler) but haven't been able to locate family for her. Was hoping I would find something back in Maryland, but did not have much time to pursue with local genealogist there. Spent some time in the library but did not have time for much research. If you have any questions please let me know I would be more than glad to help you out. Hope this helps.
