I saw your post and I am interested in information on James Madison. He was my great uncle. My grandfather was George M brother to James. I have talking with a Deborah who is a descendant of James also. If you would like her e-mail address I will ask her to send it to you. She also has a picture of my grandparents and some of the brothers and sisters of George. I remember seeing a Conrad and Thieza on the picture. Would love any information you have.

I am responding to a message from someone in Illinois who is related to James Madison Bumgardner. I am doing research on the Bumgardners who are my ancesters. Your James is my grandfather's oldest brother. My Grandfather was George McClellan Bumgardner. If you have any information on anyone in the family of John and Anna Bumgardner I would appreciate it. Andrew Bumgardner was born about 1812 in Virgina and died 1886 in Coolville, Athens, Ohio. He married Esther Cooley 12 Jun. 1836 in Coolville, Athens, Ohio. Esther was born 21 May 1817 Coolville, Athens, Ohio she died 18 Aug 1896 Coolville, Athens, Ohio
Their 2nd son was my husband 2nd great grandfather.

John Bumgardner, aged 70, was killed by the trundle wheel of Mr. Crum's grist mill in Union township last Monday (the 20th?)

NOTE: So John Bumgardner was born about 1737.

William Franklin Bumgardner is my greatgrandfather. He married Susan Haston (Pittston, PA), and then moved to Meridian, MS where my grandmother, Maude was born. They then moved to Bessemer, AL. Maude married my grandfather Arthur Jacobs. I have a great deal of info and will be putting a family tree together on Ancestry soon.

I am seeking help locating information on Jacob Bumgardner, my great grandfather, and my great great grandfather Michael Bumgardner. Jacob was born around 1838 in Wills, Gernsey County, Ohio. His father Michael was from PA.

Jacob married Florence Adair (also from Ohio) in Nevada City, CA. He died in 1880 in California of unreported causes according to a news article from Washington, OH.

Yes Audrey, I know who you are. It was so nice hearing from you! How is everyone? If my memory is right you have one daughter right? I have 3 grown girls, 8 grand and 4 great grand with another on the way. We lost Brenda in 07 due to cancer. Brady died at age 42 from a heart attack in 96. Actually I'm the only one left of the family and it sure is hard at times. I have my faith to lean on though. I miss Aunt Betty too. She was like a second Mother to me. You and I are first cousins. I am guessing you are Vicki Sams. My mother is Lillian Louise Wilkie who was child number 8 and your mom (my Aunt Dottie) was child #10 born to Fred and Audrey Bumgardner. I do not know where in West Virginia your mom was born but they did return to The Plains/Athens area. Mom was about 9 years older than your mom. The last time I saw you was back around 1957. You had an older sister, Brenda who had red hair back then I think. I've heard from our cousin, Marlene (Betty's daughter) that she has passed on. You also had a younger brother Brady. I am trying to track the parents of George Bumgardner (married to Dolly Oswald/Oswalt). George and Dolly were my mother's grandparents. Mom is the daughter of their son, Frederick Bumgardner (married to Audrey McDonald) in Floodwood Athens, Ohio.

I believe this may be some of my family relations. My brothers and myself were all born in Eureka, KS. My brother was named after our great-grandfather Allen Roy Bumgardner (which I believe may be your Al as he is buried in Eureka.)Our grandparents are Frank and Mary Ann Bumgardner who still reside in Eureka. Please let me know if you have any other information. I am trying to put together as through a family history as possible for my kids.

I have recently been given some old photographs from my husbands family. Among them are pictures labled Howard, Victor, Mary Ann and Dorthy Bumgardner. I will scan them when I get a working scanner again (hopefull tomorrow). My husbands family consits of Reau, Vogel, Trabbic, Cousino, Etue, LaVoy and I have been told the bumgardners fit in there too some where. Any assistance you could give me would be much appreciated.

My Ashley Lorenzo was actually the brother of Sanford. I posted it on Cyrus Cook. But here it is again. According to my in-laws the names check out. Only difference being is I thought it was Emfield Sanford then saw the death certificate.

My Cook line has Frederick Ashley Cook born June 7 1892 died abt 1958 married Emma Henrietta Granwitsch born 1893 died 1976. Is this by some chance the same one. Frederick Ashloey JCook parents were Sanford Emfield Cook and Alice Vesta Bumgardner.

Anthony Wayne Bumgardner was a farmer and he was in the military, Co. B 31 Ohio Infantry. you have all his children listed except for Sarah Bumgardner b. 1859.

This is my D-I-L family. The Bumgardner starts with Anthony Wayne who was born in March 23, 1833 in Hocking County, OH; died in Spaulding, MI July 3, 1908. He was married to Rebecca England, who was born in Hocking Co., OH. She died in 1905 in Gladwin Co., MI.

I am the great granddaughter of Leva Leanna Bumgardner, who married a Beall, and their children and grandchildren lived in the Belmont area of Ohio. There are still many relatives in that area.

there were 5 in the family, 4 girls and 1 boy. the oldest to youngest: GERAGENE, RACHEL, CHRISTINE, JEAN. the boy comes somewhere in there but I don't know for sure where his name was JOHN. all the sisters married except for the youngest Jean also John married, had a daught and she had a son. All were born and rasied in Mason City, WV, then moved from there, most went to Ohio. This is all that I know. My mother was Rachel she had 6 children: Virgil, John, Gary, Loretta Jean, Debby Sue, Ronnie. There are alot more of them out there I just don't know where.

August 1944 Jacky Bumgardner in Harrisburg, PA

This is a photo of a my husband's grandfather James Sisko (on the right) and a fellow named Jacky Bumgardner (on the left). James wrote on the back of the photo the name of the other fellow as well as the date of August 1944 and that it was taken in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I don't know anything about Jacky (maybe Jackie? or just Jack?), but I know James Sisko served overseas in WWII not long after this photo. I have another photo of James in France in March of 1945, so perhaps this photo with Jacky was taken while training for the war. I don't know.
If you might know this Jacky Bumgardner or anything about this photo, please reply or email me.

Emanuel Augustus Bumgardner-North Carolina

I am looking for information on my g-great grandfather, his name was Emanuel Augustus Bumgardner, born around 1847 in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth J Stewart on October 9, 1870 in Forsyth County, North Carolina and they had 9 children that I know of,Daniel, Lewis, Nancy, John, Henry, Laura, Mary Jane, Hessie, and William. The last I can find of them is in Surry County, North Carolina in 1900. I find their children in 1910 but no sign of them.

His parents were John Edward and Elizabeth "Betsy" Grubb and they were married March 18, 1846 in Stokes County, North Carolina.

I can't find any parents for John Edward, nor can I find when or where either Emanuel or Elizabeth died.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
