My name is Carroll my father was Dexter his brothers Cling and Wid and sisters Inez and Essie plus step siblings last name Watson... I am trying to find the accurate spelling of Willis wife ?Georgianner to find where and when she died and where in Sunburst.Canton. Charles(who was my great grandfather) from what I was told lived and died in Florida. Paul was my mothers dad, and from what I was told about him,he lived in Florida but was buried in Tennessee some where. I was just told yesterday that my great grandfather Charles also had two other kids with his second marriage,named Charles Ray Bumgarner Jr and Mary Elizabeth Bumgarner, I don't know where they've lived though.I was also told that Charles dads name was Mack, I'm assuming he lived in Florida.Hope this helps.

Charles Bumgarner was born in 1916 and died in 1970.
Paul Bumgarner was born in 1943 and dies in 1977.
Fred Bumgarner was born in 1945 and died in 1986.
Danny Bumgarner was born in 1946 but cant seem to find anything else on him.
Clyde Bumgarner was born in 1947 and he's still living.

My great great grandfather Bumgarner's name was James, married to Candis. His son was Rufus, married to Mary. His son was Talmadge, married to Virchew.

Born between Millers Creek, NC and Jefferson, NC in a small town named Wilbar.

I have info from Lincoln Co, North Carolina, that says Moses Bumgarner married Charity Ichard 8 May 1798 that was witnesses by Elias Plott and Jno Dickson. I'm not sure if this is the correct Moses (Born 1 Apr 1776) .

**Microfilm record of Lincoln County, North Carolina Court of Pleas & Quarters, April, 1789 to April, 1796 lists the following: " The State vs. John Bumgarner, bound in the sum of fifty Pounds to keep the County Pleas of a Bastard Child Moses Bumgarner got on the body of Peggy Byers. No fine paid 27th October, 1791 - Received 25 Shillings and 2 Shillings cost." from William Byers, "The Parents of Moses Byers" Upper Cumberland Researcher, Spring 1994, pp. 9-11.

I got the list of children between Moses and Charity from a genealogy book done years ago by a 1st cousin 2x removed who was born in 1922 and worked on geneology for 40 years. The list was in pencil and doesn't seem 100%. He has a note saying from Wilma. I don't think he actually researched it all. Some seem correct and others are just names with no info. Hope this helps you.

If you are still looking for information, I am just getting started but have my findings as well as geneology books created by my grandpa's cousin who is now mid 80s (a Triplett) who did a great deal of work on both the Bumgarner and Triplett families over 40 years. I am just begining to go through it all but there is a great deal of information.

Andrew & Lavina's great-granddaughter, Eva married Guy Triplett crossing these two families again. I also have info Andrew & Lavina's parents, grandparents, etc.

Bud was my Grandpa...His name was Carson Bud Lyle & his sister was Vannie not Zani. My grandfather changed the spelling from Lyall to Lyle because it was always mispelled. Perhaps you or someone can help me find the ancesters of our Baumgarten line. I don't know how or where to look as I am still new to this kind of research. The earliest one I know about is Alexander Baumgartner, b Aug 1884 in Germany. I'd love to know where and what siblings,parents, etc he had. He immmigrated to America in 1867 and married Elizabeth Ott (1851-1921). He had a large number of children including Walter (1881-1955)who lived in Kentucky.
Any help would be much appreciated!

My family lives in Drop texas about 7 miles outside of Justin. I recently found an old community cookbook detailing the history of the Bumgarner family in Drop, TX:

Auther and Belle Bumgarner, originally from North Carolina, moved to the Drop community from Wise county (where he had worked on a ranch) in 1915 with two daughters: Mada and Lois and later Hazel. In 1919 they opened a small grocery store serving the drop residents that was located at what is now the corner of Oliver Creek Rd. and A.A. Bumgarner Rd.

Her parents are Laura Bumgarner (peabody)who remarried and last know name was Laura Hensley. Her father is Robbie Bumgarner born in OK. Hottest Day of Year Causes First Sunstroke of 1914

The hottest day of the summer in Oklahoma City brought
death to one, and caused unusual discomfort to man and
beast on Wednesday. The thermometer registered 104
degrees at the local weather bureau, breaking all heat
records for the season. The hottest day previously was
July 16, when the mercury reached 102 degrees.

G B Bumgarner, 64 years old, died from sunstroke four
miles west of the city Wednesday afternoon. He leaves a
wife and 3 daughters in Oklahoma City. The body is being
held in the parlors of Street & Draper, undertakers,
awaiting funeral arrangements.

The mercury rose steadily at a minimum temperature of
76 degrees at 7 a.m. Wednesday. At 11 o'clock the
temperature had reached 100 degrees and at 5 o'clock
the maximum of 104 degrees was reached. Weather records
show that it was the hottest July 29 in Oklahoma City in
twenty-four years. At 9 p.m. the mercury had dropped
only to 91 degrees, and the wind was hot, refusing to
cool materially from the extreme heat of daylight. Cool
breezes came at midnight.

The pavements, soft from the intense heat, reflected the
sun's rays, and the tall downtown buildings proed barriers
to the baking winds, which seared vegetation. Those who
were down town sweltered, puffed, fanned and took refuge,
many of them, in thirst parlors, which universally did a
thriving business. One thermometer in front of a drug
store registered 108 degrees.

Hello there I have got a tough one for you. My 3rd great grandfather was Sidney Bumgarner and he lived I think in Catawba, his daughter, (Mary Susana Bumgarner Married AA Murdock) was my great great grandmother. I am trying to find as much information on Sidney Bumgarner and his parents and on up as far as I can. On my other side of my family I also have bumgarners from the Alexander county area and I am trying to find how related my parents are!
