I am looking for information about Augusta Jenings who was born in NY abt 1831. She had a sister, Rebecca. Augusta married my great great grandfather Mathew Bunbury in 1847 in Berrien Co Michigan. They lived in Illinois and finally in Waterloo, Iowa. After Mathew's sudden death away from home in Corning Iowa in Jan. 1874, Augusta remarried and moved with her son Clarence H Bunbury to Denver then to Salida Colorado. Augusta died in Salida in 1907.

Yes I did - this was what I posted as soon as i received your message, Kind regards, naomi

Hi there and thank you so much for the contact. This may be news indeed - I was in touch with Peter Bunbury, the son of one of Cecil's sisters who she put up for adoption and who now lives in Australia, for much of the last 3 months of 2009. We have not been in touch recently but only because I came up against a brick wall when I tried to contact your father's half-sister Tania Pollington. She was not prepared to accept what I was saying was the truth and i subsequently understood from Peter that Cecil disinherited your father and his brother Nicholas when he married Iris Wright.

Sadly, some of my father's records were damaged at the children's home he was in during bomb damage in World War II. By this time Dad was in Wolverhampton with his adoptive parents, but it did mean that when he came to try and trace his parents, all he got was a copy of his original birth certificate, adoption certificate and the front file page of his file which named your grandfather as his father.

I have lots of information and also pictures of my father, which Peter says remind him very much of your grandfather, and it would be lovely to know more about new cousins, so if I give you my e.mail address I will leave it up to you as to whether you decide to make further contact or not. Once again, many many thanks for the message. My name is Naomi - I am 51 years old and my e.mail address is: naomijhutton@fsmail.net - Dad is Brian Peter Conway and was born on 10th April 1929 so is nearly 82 years old. I have seen pictures of your father and Nicholas taken a few years ago and once again there is a family likeness. It would be lovely to hear more from you.

As Cecil's grandson, I can confirm that my father Jolyon is still alive & celebrated his 78th birthday only the other week.
This is certainly new news as I have never heard the name Ruth Case mentioned in any family discussions.
I was only 4 when my grandfather died but I know my parents have one photograph of the two of us together.
I appreciate your post is over a year old now but I've only just picked it up searching family names on google.

My father was born out of wedlock on 10.4.29 to Ruth Case and Cecil Bunbury. I have discovered that he married Blanche Ling in 1932 then married again in 1946, with Jolyon and Nicholas being born to him and Blanch, and Tania being born to him and Iris, his second wife in 1947.

Does anyone have any further info which may be helpful. My father is still alive but is 80 now and as he was adopted, having been given up at birth by Ruth (forced by her parents I believe), it would be lovely for him to trace some of his living blood relatives. Thank You
I have been trying to trace Victorian Bunburys. I have a number of Heritage BMD Indexes. Thomas Charles Bunbury, born Ireland, was the Son of George Wm Bunbury, Snr and Sarah Bunbury, nee Mansergh. Geo Wm Bunbury, Snr was also my grandfather's father he was born after the death of Sarah his first wife. The WA Bunburys are related to your family further back down the line.

Dear Mr. Bunbury:

My great-grandmother was Maria Bunbury. She married Charles Miles in Canada sometime around 1875. Her father was Thomas Bunbury and her mother was Eliza Hackett. Her grandfather was Patrick Bunbury and her grandmother was Mary Gorman. I believe they emigrated to Canada sometime around 1831 from Ireland but I don't know what part of Ireland they were from.

I was unable to find the link on your websight to the "Bunburys of Ireland". Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Richard "Rick" Miles

P.S. I hope to get one of your books for Christmas from my wife. Which one do you recommend? I assume they are available on Amazon.com.

The only information I have is on her son's death certtificate (Hubert Mills Gallon, b: March 8, 1866 in Lindsey, Ontario, Canada). The spelling of the last name for Mary on the death certificate is Bonberry and most likely not the correct spelling.

The rummor has it that Mary's parents did not want her to marrie James Gallon because she would be marring benieth her. So many things could of happend here.

My great-grandfather (Hubert Gallon) ended up in Los Angles, California and I am not sure where his parents ended up. It seems that they started in Canada moved to Michigan then to Los Angles area.

I have a distent relitive that is going to Leeds, England and is going to try and fined information on Mary Bunbury. I sure hope he fines something. This side of my family has been very hard to trace because I do not have a lot of information on them. I wish I would of been into this when my father was alive.

If you come across anything please let me know and if I fined out anything I well keep in informed. My email address is dbordiso@earthlink.net if you would like to email me off line.

Thank you, Denise

Hi Gil

Well like the rest we are still concentrating on Patrick Bunbury in Canada. Born about 1804 in Ireland. I have a transcripted letter stating some of the Irish Bunbury family from around Dublin moved to Canada. My GGG grandparents moved to New Brunswick.Everyone keeps saying they think they came from around Wicklow. But we have not been able to find any proof. Could he have dropped part of his name when he left? Thank you for any help or suggestions you may have.

Christine
