Hi..My father william Thomas Bunn was born in Pike County, 11-23-1874. His father was a William Bunn, Mother was Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner. Wm and Sarah had the following children, John Robert, Charlie Heber and my father William Thomas Bunn. There may have been a sister, but if so, she died. My mother did not know all the details. Now, my father married a Georgia Bunn (Her maiden name was also Bunn, Daddy married a cousin, so Georgia would be a distant cousin to me also. Now, as far as I knew, they had only one daughter, my half-sister, Annie Lizzie Bunn, who married a Wade. I do not know what happened to Georgia. I thought my daddy was a Widow. He met and married my mother in 1935 and I was born in 1938. We live in Atlanta then, but Daddy, his mother, and brothers lived a long time on Greenville St, in Newnan, Ga. The Bunn brothers ran a hardware store in that town in the early thirities. Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner Bunn died in 1929. There was a family Bible, but it was lost in moving, many years ago and had only the Faulkner names in it. Now, there is some confusion (In speaking to Sam Bunn sometime ago)He has a Georgia Bunn, married to a William Bunn, but the age is a little off and they have his father listed differently, if we are talking about the same Georgia Bunn.
Now, I was not quiete 14 when Daddy died and I knew very little except that they did not want him to marry my mother who was 20 years his junior and with several small children, but he did and since I only met them a few times, my history of them is unknown. I only know that the facts I have given above are accurate. Now Robert Bunn had two daughters, Rosa Alta Bunn and Rosa Jeannette Bunn, who married a Dingler. Jeanette told me over the phone many years ago that she thought Grandfather Bunn, who married Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner was William Heber Bunn, and it makes sense since one of his sons was named Charlie Heber Bunn, and Wm H. Bunn was buried somewhere near Fitzgerald, Ga, but she didn't know where. Now, the mystery is this, my mother told me when talking about ancestry that Daddy told her that Georgia said that she had several other children by him. I said, if so, then why did they not live with Daddy and Annie Lizzie, and she said she did not know, but she think that those children lived with her parents.
Why? I do not know, where there children after a divorce.
I find one William Bunn as Divorced and another Widowed.
So, since Census get it wrong sometime, I have no way of knowing if Daddy was divorced, which I am beginning to suspect. It is possible that I had older half-brothers or sisters that I knew nothing about. I saw the name Mattie LOu Gordon listed and that name rings such a bell and I am sure that I heard it a lot. I am going to ask my older half-sister, she remembers more about the Bunns and see if she remembers Mattie Lou Gordon and if she knew anything about Georgia Bunn. I believe that Georgia Bunn was not in the picture when he met my mother as she didn't seem to know very much.
