I have a beautiful baby picture of Wilma Bunn. The back reads, "Wilma Nemethy Bunn, aged 11 1/2 weeks. Earl Bunn's daughter." It was taken in Morristown, NJ. Her parents were Walter Earl and Mabel Esther Bunn. Wilma was born abt 1902 in NJ. 1910 and 1920 censuses show them living in Bernards, Somerset County, NJ.

I would like to return her photo to her family, so if you are related to her and want the photo, let me know. I can send a scan first.

Patricia
prock2@ec.rr.com
Hi Angie, my ancestor, Henry william Bunn, arrived in NZ in the 1870's from Purleigh in Essex. I have the line back to 1685 in Essex but dont see your names linking in.

Does william &/or any of his brothers have links to Essex ?. I still cant find James, born 1859 in Purleigh so dont know if he had any descendants that might include your William.

I am aware that a William H Bunn, born in Peldon, lived in Ireland & Wales from about 1850 but he is not related to mine. Most of my line lived in/near Hatfield Peverel, Ulting, Purleigh (Essex) 1680's to late 1800's.

I presume that you are in NZ, whereabouts ?. Regards, Allen

John: I'm a little late in answering this because you might know the answer already. Anyway, Conrad Bunn (Morris Co, NJ)had a son Frederick (He had many) Frederick m Margaret Schneider, they had a son John F. who m Ellen Wartendyke and moved to Williamstown, Oswego Co, NY. Their first child was Capt Wm. S. Bunn and he did live in Oswego, IL. Rather weird that you would forget your father's name.
Hope this helps!

Re: Spalding Co. Bunn's

Hi..My father william Thomas Bunn was born in Pike County, 11-23-1874. His father was a William Bunn, Mother was Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner. Wm and Sarah had the following children, John Robert, Charlie Heber and my father William Thomas Bunn. There may have been a sister, but if so, she died. My mother did not know all the details. Now, my father married a Georgia Bunn (Her maiden name was also Bunn, Daddy married a cousin, so Georgia would be a distant cousin to me also. Now, as far as I knew, they had only one daughter, my half-sister, Annie Lizzie Bunn, who married a Wade. I do not know what happened to Georgia. I thought my daddy was a Widow. He met and married my mother in 1935 and I was born in 1938. We live in Atlanta then, but Daddy, his mother, and brothers lived a long time on Greenville St, in Newnan, Ga. The Bunn brothers ran a hardware store in that town in the early thirities. Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner Bunn died in 1929. There was a family Bible, but it was lost in moving, many years ago and had only the Faulkner names in it. Now, there is some confusion (In speaking to Sam Bunn sometime ago)He has a Georgia Bunn, married to a William Bunn, but the age is a little off and they have his father listed differently, if we are talking about the same Georgia Bunn.
Now, I was not quiete 14 when Daddy died and I knew very little except that they did not want him to marry my mother who was 20 years his junior and with several small children, but he did and since I only met them a few times, my history of them is unknown. I only know that the facts I have given above are accurate. Now Robert Bunn had two daughters, Rosa Alta Bunn and Rosa Jeannette Bunn, who married a Dingler. Jeanette told me over the phone many years ago that she thought Grandfather Bunn, who married Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner was William Heber Bunn, and it makes sense since one of his sons was named Charlie Heber Bunn, and Wm H. Bunn was buried somewhere near Fitzgerald, Ga, but she didn't know where. Now, the mystery is this, my mother told me when talking about ancestry that Daddy told her that Georgia said that she had several other children by him. I said, if so, then why did they not live with Daddy and Annie Lizzie, and she said she did not know, but she think that those children lived with her parents.
Why? I do not know, where there children after a divorce.
I find one William Bunn as Divorced and another Widowed.
So, since Census get it wrong sometime, I have no way of knowing if Daddy was divorced, which I am beginning to suspect. It is possible that I had older half-brothers or sisters that I knew nothing about. I saw the name Mattie LOu Gordon listed and that name rings such a bell and I am sure that I heard it a lot. I am going to ask my older half-sister, she remembers more about the Bunns and see if she remembers Mattie Lou Gordon and if she knew anything about Georgia Bunn. I believe that Georgia Bunn was not in the picture when he met my mother as she didn't seem to know very much.
Tommylou Kathy Bunn Schultz
Website:(Author Website)
www.kathybunnschultz.com

Barbara.. The Cemetary was in Newnan and I thought it was called the Newnan Cemetary, but I was very young then and as I went off to Nursing School in Maryland and lived there and now job tranferred here to Houston, it has been a long time. I thought we went over a railroad track to get to it, but we are talking the early 1950's. My cousins, Rosa Alta and Rosa Jeanette passed on. I think the connection may come from my Grandfather Bunn having a brother or brothers. Not sure. Will try and get the address or name of the cememtary. Mother just called it the Newnan Cemetary, so I thought that was its name.
Kathy

I do not know who my grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner Bunn's parents were, but I do remember some of the names that were in the now lost bible. There was a William Faulkner listed, a Thomas Faulkner, my grandmother's name, Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner also a Susan or Sarah Jane Faulkner, and the last name at the bottom was only 3-4 letters, I remember because I could not read it clearly, it was either, Rosa, Ira, Ian or Ida. I can't remember all the names. Grandmother died in 1929, she was born in 1955 and I never met her as I was born in 1938, Daddy's second marrage. He was 63 and my mother was 40. I only met Uncle Charles, his wife, and Uncle Bob (Robert)Bunn and my mother was never close to them as they did not want daddy to remarry. Anyway, I have no idea. Now what is confusing about the Doc Bunn. My grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner married a William Bunn. There was no mention in Grandmother's bible of the Bunns at all, it was just a Faulkner Bible. Now in Newnan cemetary is the Faulkner/Bunn plot where my Grandmother and others are buried. There is a Rosa Bunn buried there and my cousins were named Rosa Alta, and Rosa Jeanette Bunn, these were Uncle Bob's daughters and my Uncle Charle had an Inez Bunn and I cannot remember the others as Charlie and Bertha Wortham Bunn were most opposed to the my father's marriage.
So, I am just in limbo as to Dock Bunn, he was not my grandmother's husband, but if he has a William in his name, then could be or it could be that Jeanette was wrong when she told me that she believed his name was William Heber Bunn as my uncle Charlie's name was charlie Heber Bunn. All I know is that my grandfather, William Bunn, had a brother(s). Also, there was an Ella Bunn who married a Mitchell Kellum or was visiting at the Kellums, and mother told me that she was related to me through the Bunns, but I was only about 10 then. Anyway, Ella was kin to me in two ways, as a cousin and through marriage. So, I only have bits and pieces. Also,my father was born 11-23-1874 in Pike County. Ii do believe that the William Faulkner at the top of the page in the Bible was born in Oxford, I cannot remember for sure, but it was not in Georgia. Ah, but my memory escapes me and the Faulkner Bible was lost many, many, years ago. I am in Texas now, and do not get home often, but if I get home this summer, I plan to go down there and copy all the names and start from there.
Have a good day.
Kathy
Kathy

My first cousins were named Rosa Alta Bunn, never married, and Rosa Jeanette Bunn, married Buford Dingler. I believe it was Jeanette that had twin daughters. Do you know if farmer had a brother named William Heber Bunn. Jeanette told me many years ago over the phone that she thought William Bunn's middle name was Heber, as Charlie Heber Bunn, my uncle was named after him,and my daddy William Thomas Bunn was named after him for the William part. Also, mother said she thought that Daddy had a sister named Rosa but that she thought she died young - but she didn't know as Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner Bunn ran grandfather off when the boys were very little, said maybe a scandal. Not sure. Also, he was at some farm when he died. The brothers ran a hardware store in Newnan, Ga, late 1920's or early 1930. It is in the newnan History book. Haven't seen it, but a person at Newnan bookstore told me about it when I went for a book signing and I told her that my daddy and family had lived in Newnan for a very long time. I am sure there is some connection somewhere.
Kathy

Barbara...Just wanted to comment that my daddy, William Thomas Bunn was born in Pike County. I think William H. Bunn, his father and Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Faulkner were married in Spaulding County. Looking for that. My Grandfather had a brother, but I do not know his name, mother told me she thought it was Farmer and the only reason I remember that is I asked why they named him that and she said she guess he was a Farmer. I do not know anymore than that, as she knew very little also. There has to be a connection somewhere.

Kathy Bunn Schultz

I think I can pretty well rule out the John James "Jim" Bunn as the father of your Charlie. This is my family line, and there was quite a bit of documentation on this family. He married Susan C. "Susie" Thompson 23 Nov 1871, and the first child was born 11 months later. You missed one sibling for this family - "Mattie L. Bunn". The others are correct.
Yes, Ruth Thomas Bunn, wife of Jim Bunn was the one I was talking about that was 78 and widowed in the 1910 census. I don't have another Ruth who married a Bunn in my tree (not to say there wasn't another one out there). Her mother was a Ruth (unknown maiden name) Thomas - she was in one of the censuses with them.
I do not have Ruth and Jim Bunn in the 1880 census yet. I know I have searched for it, but never found it. Of course there won't be an 1890 census for them since most of those burned.

I love all these twists and turns!
I have Turner Bunn in my tree with a son John Henry Bunn.
Turner B. Bunn, b. abt 1859 married Nancy Ivey (b. Jun 1872). I have them in quite a few census records. (1860 - Spalding Co., GA, 1870, 1880, 1900 - Monroe Co., GA, 1910, 1920 - Coweta Co., GA)
Turner Bunn was the son of John Bunn (b. 1819) and Nancy Wilder (b Mar 1814). John and Nancy were married 11 Jul 1846 in Henry Co., GA.
This John Bunn was a brother of James "Jim" Bunn (the family previously discussed)!
I wasn't clear on who you were referring to at then end of the note about "I read somewhere in one of these posts that she (which she?) passed away...
If you are referring to Rooth Ann Thomas Bunn, I don't think so. She is in the 1910 Spalding Co., GA census. It shows Ruth Bunn, grandmother (of Edward E. Bunn), age 78, widowed, has had 10 (or 11) children with 9 still living, born in GA, parents born in GA, does home work, and can not read or write.
Keep digging! Who knows what will turn up!

Under James "Jim" Bunn and Rooth Ann Thomas Bunn I had 7 other children before adding Henry Farmer Brown Bunn (aka T. Farmer Bunn).
George Washington Bunn, b. Mar 1849, married Louisa Unknown
Richard A. Bunn, b. 14 Feb 1854, married 1st - Sarah J. "Sally" Norris, married 2nd - Sarah Jane Wilder
Dock Franklin Bunn, b. 6 Aug 1856, married Elizabeth Faulkner
Newton Forrest Bunn, b 1859
Lem.(or Lew) F. Bunn, b. 1863
Rose A. Bunn, b. 1865
Sarah Bunn, b. 1868.
In the 1870 Census of Monroe Co., GA, only these 7 are listed (T. Farmer Bunn is not). There is of course the possibility that he just got left out.
The problem with Charley being in this family is that there is already a female born the same year as Charley (and he also wasn't listed on this census). Don't rule it out completely, but these are some facts that might help while searching. Your Charley definitely lived in the same areas as these Bunns. (Pike and Monroe Counties)
James "Jim" Bunn's parents were William Bunn and Lydia Massey. William Bunn's parents were James Bunn and Suckey Unknown.
Sam Bunn was the one who shared most of this with me early on as well as Mary Ann Bunn. They had been researching for a long time!
I am descended from James and Suckey Bunn's second son Jesse Bunn (William's brother).

thanks its good to be able to rule one of them out, I am searching for 1880 census and have not found it yet either, I am still thinking it is possibly Jim and Rooth, though maybe not cause if she was still alive at Charleys death it seems like the informant would have known it and listed her as mother instead of saying dont know.
Hi, I am researching my gg grandfather Charley Bunn, I have his death certificate and it states his father was Jim Bunn but has no mother on it nor does it have his date of birth it says he was 54 years old at the time so this would make him born abt.1868 in Monroe County Ga. I am thinking it may be possible for Farmer to be his brother, since they both have fathers named Jim Bunn and are born very close to the same time, do you happen to have any more information on brothers and sisters of Farmer Bunn or anything else on Jim Bunn or his Wife Ruthie Thomas, I have nothing on these and would love to find if they are from Monroe county, any children you know of besides Farmer and Rose, I have limited information on Charley, I know he married a Susan Sabra Johnson and they had children: Arthur, Hillard, Georgia ( my gmother) John William, Irene, Alice or Alma, Cora Estelle, Trudi Mae, Bessie, Sally B., Joe, Jack, I have some of their spouses etc. when Charley died he was living in Pike County Ga.I have found him in several census in Pike and Coweta co. I also have the DC for his daughter Sallie B Bunn which was also in Pike, she died at age 12 of pnuemonia , Any information would be welcome on these Bunns
thanks
Barbara Bunn Guilford

thanks for your quick reply, I am not sure of the actual birthdate of Charley as it was not on his death certificate it just said 54 years old, this was in 1922, it also said father Jim Bunn and mother unknown, and he was born in Monroe county, so the birthdate could be off, I have him in census after he married Susan Sabra Johnson but have yet to find one if him with his parents, in the 1900 census it shows him in Coweta county and married , it has his age at 26 and his birthdate at Jan. 1874, then in 1910 census he is listed as 38 years old so there is a 2 year difference there, he was in Spalding County in 1910, then in 1920 he was in Pike county, this is where his daughter Sallie B Bunn died at of Pnuemonia, I have her death certificate with his name as C B Bunn listed there as informant, I have him on 1920 census of Pike County listed as 52 years old so in that 10 years he gained 14 more years, this along with his death certificate is what I used to determine his birthdate around 1868, he could have been unsure of his own age, or the census takers could have written it wrong. Do you have any other idea of another Jim Bunn in Monroe county that could be his father. I am not sure if he would have a certificate of birth or not . If the birthdate in 1900 census were correct he would have been born after 1870 census did you find them in 1880?
his daughter Georgia Bunn my grandmother married a John Henry Bunn son of Turner Bunn, I am thinking it must have been a cousin or something since both were Bunns but have not proven that yet, I would appreciate any help I can get from anyone here that might give me an idea of how best to trace his parents, the informant on his death certificate was G W Goddard, I am thinking he was married to Charleys daughter and may not have known his mothers name if she had passed away earalier on
I read somewhere in one of these posts that she passed away after birth of a child, do you know which one this was, or the year she died
Did Jim remarry after her or have other kids?
sorry for all the questions. thanks for your reply
Barbara Bunn Guilford`

yes this is the same John Henry Bunn, he married my fathers mother Georgia Bunn in Coweta County in 1922 a few months after her father Charley Bunn died, they were both Bunns so it is most likely they were related, seeing as how lots of people married first cousins back then this is possible.
John Henry and Georgia Bunn had the following children
Mildred Lucille Bunn
Inez Bunn
Lizzie Bunn
Elsie Mae Bunn died as a child
Tiny John Bunn died as a baby
John Henry died on 1-6-1936
my father was born after he died and his father was a man named Walter Franklin Washington, he was married with a family of his own so he was never part of his life and he was called Walter Franklin Bunn because his mothers maiden name was also Bunn, so I am not related to John Henry but my aunts are his daughters.
when I mentioned Rooth dying after birth of a child I was thinking it was Rooth I had read this on, I will look for the thread to see if I can find it again, I was thinking it was when they were discussing Farmer Bunn and his sister Rosa that never married and died in a home, and she never grew in her permanent teeth on top after she lost her baby teeth, this is something I read on the message boards
so you say that Rooth wife of Jim Bunn did not die early after birth of a child and this is the same one that is mother to Farmer and Dock, George, Richard, Newt,Lem, Rose, and Sarah, are some of these still living or is this another Rooth, this all gets confusing to me.
looking through my notes I see that there is another Jim Bunn son of Thomas Newton Bunn, grandson of your Jesse Bunn, could he be the Jim that fathered Charley? do you have any info on him, I have him born on June 12, 1847, so he would be 21 in 1968 and old enough to father him, I dont see a Charley as a child for him though, I have for him
Eula, Lois, Marvin, COrnelia, Thomas, Emmet, Mary, Merter, COra O, Paul C
Do you have Rooth and Jim in 1880 census or 1890? I am still searching for it, in 1900 Charley was married so I need to find him before this, I just looked and Charley got married in 1890 so 1880 would have to be it or maybe 1870 if he is not of their family or living with another family ...
He also came from Monroe to Spalding and Coweta, he married in coweta, but in 1920 he was back in Pike where he died
sorry for the rambling I am trying to give what details I can find
Barbara Bunn Guilford

Lisaa
I have no photos of any of the older Bunns I only have a few of Charleys family, I was hoping to find that Charley was somehow related to the Jim Bunn and Rooth Thomas, since I have his death certificate and it lists father as Jim Bunn but mother is unknown and he is born in Monroe county Ga. I would love to see any photos you would like to share with me, I know my Charley Bunn is related to this family somewhere I just cant find where. He grew up around the same area and had father named Jim, he married in COweta county and lived between COweta, Spalding and Pike until his death in 1922 in Pike co, GA.
Any info you may have concerning a Charley Bunn around 1868-1922 would be so helpful, I know its not the Charlie Heber Bunn brother of William T. Bunn, I am now searching for the census with him in it as a child
thanks for the info you shared
Barbara Bunn Guilford

Kathy I am in GA and not too far from Newnan, maybe an hour away, so if you tell me where they are buried at I will try to go and see them names and get photos of them for you.
I do believe we are all related somehow its just hard to find out how. All I have on my Charley is that he is born in Monroe Co. and was son of Jim Bunn, mother unknown, so I am searching for a Jim Bunn with him in a census. I was thinking it was the one married to Rooth Thomas but since it is said she lived to be quite old this again doesn't make sense as they would have known her name if she was alive when he died, unless she was no longer living with Jim. So I am searching for another Charley as possible father. I have seen your William and Charley in census as I scour through them looking for mine, do you have these census for them
Barbara Bunn Guilford

Sadie,Nettie, Jessie(sp) Bunn in Iowa

I'm looking for a Bunn who married a widow with a child-Hannah and James Henry Rogers in Iowa about 1865-1870. James Henry Rogers was born in Cedar Rapids in 1862,so I'm assuming it would have been around that area. They had 3 daughters together, Sadie, Nettie and Jessie(sp)Bunn. There may have been additional children, as well. I'm told there was also a Grandmother living with the family, not sure which side. Supposedly James Henry Rogers father was from Ireland, left for the Civil war and never returned. Unfortunately I don't have his first name. I'd really appreciate any information.

Clain Bunn - NC b abt 1827. Is Henry Bunn his father?
I have no hard evidence that Henry Bunn, shown in the 1850 census to be living in Franklin County, NC, is the father of Clain Bunn. What I have now is growing circumstantial evidence. Working backward in time, in the 1860 Franklin County census Clain is Head of household, 33 years old,and married to Sally Loyd. They were married in Dec. 1850. The census in 1850 was conducted in July so Clain should be single head of house or living in someone elses. There is no Clain in a 4 county area. There is a 23 year old "Calvin" in the house of 60 y/o Henry and 45 y/o Penny Bunn. In that same household are 14 y/o Jordston and 20 y/o Ruffin Bunn. According to Marriage Bonds of Franklin County, Clain Bunn stood as bondsman for both of these men. Next door is the household of Thomas Loyd and his 23 y/o daughter Sally. Is Clain Calvin? I think so, can anybody help?

who was Sarah Elizabeth Faulkners parents?? Were they William G. Faulkner and Elizabeth "Betsy" Musgrove?? Did Sarah have as brother named Thomas F. Faulkner?? Thomas was my grandfather, he had a sister named Elizabeth who I think married Dock Franklin Bunn. Dock was Farmer Bunns brother and Farmer was my grandfather. Farmer married Rosa May Faulkner Who was the daughter of Thomas F. Faulkner. I have Farmers death certificate, his and Rosas marriage license, my fathers birth certificate. So I know that Jim Bunn and Rooth Thomas Bunn were Farmers parents. I guess the Lew or Lem F. Bunn in the census were actually Farmer. Ive been reading these things for years and I know there is a connection somewhere but where??? Lisa

my greatgrand parents were Jim Bunn and Rooth Thomas Bunn. Their son listed as Lew or Lem F. Bunn in the censuses, I believe to be Farmer Bunn. I have Farmers death certificate and it clearly list Jim and Rooth as parents. But some documents I have list him as T. Farmer Bunn or HB Bunn or Henry Farmer Bunn. He and his wife, Rosa Faulkner, were my dads parents. Ive always heard of him called Farmer. My cousin gave me a pic of Farmer with( she said it was Uncle Dave) his brother. But Farmer didnt have a brother named Dave. So im not sure who the guy in the pic is. I also have a pic of Dock Franklin Bunn and wife Sarah Faulkner. Dock was Farmers brother. Rosa faulkner was daughter of Thomas F. Faulkner and Ada Mann of Barnesville, That where Farmer and Rosa lived until his death in 1931. I would love to share pics if u have any. Thanks, Lisa

Hi,
While not related, I am doing research on the McDonough Cemetery, and setting up a non-profit with the City to upgrade and repair.

I don't see Georgia, but if you look at the Clayton-Henery Geneological 2004 survey, p.7 it shows Amaziah, Elizabeth, Henri, no noam, Roxie andZelemma in Grid 6. Also, inJoseph Henry Hightower Moores book"First Families of Henry County", p. 277 (and the index) he indicates a few more of the family members, including Lindsey, Willie m. John Henry.

I have been looking at the flyovers from the tax commisioner, aerials from water dept, etc, so I have pretty good stuff if you are interested. I also have been going through old deed records from the City, but haven't looked at your plot yet. Let me know if I can help, and I appreciate any communications, as I am planning to repair all concrete, etc, and wish for family involvement. My goal is to database the entire cemetery, and link each grave to ancestry, rootsweb, etc. Big project, so obviously, all family help is key.

Thanks,
David
