Albert, Thank you for your information. I wish I knew if these Bunnells were related to me. That would be so interesting. I do not know of an Amos in the ancestorial background, but there could be. My names are primarily Charles and William; however, my dna shows 15% NA, and I would love to know what tribe so I could learn their history. How would I contact the tribe by email?
Donna

POW?MIA Korean War, BUNNELL

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Warren County Ohio as his home of record.

Soldier: ROBERT JACK BUNNELL
Born: JAN. 31, 1923, Caucasian
Date of loss: JAn 3, 1951, POW

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. The Bunnell family is one of those missing.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
I have a Lovina Bunnell married Jabez Hitchcock. They resided in Trumbull County, OH. Do not know if there is a connection. These families came from CT to Ohio early 1800's as Jabez is listed as having given money to a church in 1810 in Canfield. (Canfield is now in Mahoning County, OH) A paper found in my Family Bible lists their marriage as 1803, then lists all of the children.
Census records show a Charles Bunnell also in Canfield.

This mesasge is from Mrsdrperry@aol.com <Mrsdrperry@aol.com> on the Bunnell list

In the box that comes up, type in 017844. You will come to George's page in the database built by Claude Bunnell. The blue phrases/names are links to those persons. You will see that you have some information (such as his wife's name) that isn't in the data base. It would be great if you could send that info to Claude at cbunnel@comcast.net. The database is free and he is continually updating it.

Charlie Bunnell
visit us at www.bunnellfamily.com

I have only one Joseph Bunnell in my data base. He was the son of Gershom Bunnell married to Margaret Johnson. He was born ca 1733 in Milford, New Haven, Connecticut and married Abiah Kirby. I wonder if they had a son Joseph?? I have no children listed for them and haven't followed up on them. Joseph was apparently my Solomon's brother. My list of children for Solomon is not definitive - he could have had another son. Hard to follow him up when I can't find the family after Nova Scotia!! Good luck!

BUNNELL, Solomon loyalist

Solomon is my 5th great grandfather and I have researched him for many years. He was Christened: 5 Aug 1739 Redding Congregational Church, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He was a loyalist who removed to Weymouth Bridge, Sissaboo, Digby, Nova Scotia area in 1783. He was married to Anna BEARDSLEY of Connecticut. Their children were: Anne, Solomon, Polly, Sally, Charlotte, Albert, Lucy. In 1794 they left Nova Scotia for parts unknown!! Their daughter Anne married Jonathan BEDFORD and they spent a couple of years in the Digby area before moving to Ontario. If anyone has any information on this family I'd very much like to correspond and share anything I have.

Thanks.
Mary Lou
Calgary, Canada

Hi I was reading your posts on ancestry.com from 2001 and I think I'm part of your Bunnell group too. My great grandfather is William Henry Bunnell (b:1901Arkansas, d:1985,San Jose,CA)he was married to Rachel Mae Nelson. I have that William's father was also William Henry Bunnell(b:1872AL, D:1965 Santa Clara cty., CA) he was married to Belle A. Reed. From there his father was Roland Cassius Thaddeus Obediah Bunnell(b:Jun 12 1850 Newport,MD D: Oct 6 1907 Gainesville, TX) he married Martha Isabel McCorkel (b:1850 AL). I have that Roland's father was Henry Bunnell (possibly William Henry Bunnell) (b:1811 Washington, DC d: 1851 Marlboro, MD) he was married to Permelia Cooksey Amery (b:1814 Newport Trinity Parish Charles, Maryland D: 1870). Then I have that Henry's father may be Eliab but I dont know anything else. I got all this from the Bunnell,Bonnell Family Website. http://www.bunnellfamily.com/files.php

Sounds like you decend from Roland as well. Can you confirm any of this for me?? My Bunnell family also lived in San Jose, CA for many years, they came from Arkansas/Oklahoma.
I would appreciate any help you have! Sounds like you all have great links. I live in San Diego, CA for one more month but my immediate family lives just outside Washington, DC. So if you need me to do any digging when I move back just let me know!
Thanks! Rachal Lohr-Dean

Hi Rachal, My Great grandfather and great grandmother were Roland Cassius Thadeus Obediah Bunnell (b.1851 - d.1907) and Belle mcCarcul(not sure on spelling of her last name) Their son Albert Ernest Bunnell ( b. 1887- d.1954) was my grandfather. His third wife Rettie Jane West ( b.1908) is my grandmother. She is still alive and well at the age of 98 in San Jose,CA. Her son Jody Wayne Bunnell (b. 1933) is my father. My name is Susan Elizabeth Bunnell (Stringham). My grandfather Albert Ernest Bunnell was born Putnam Tenn. and died in San Jose. He moved his family in the early 1940's to San Jose, CA. The majority of his children and grandchildren ( as well as my grandma Bunnell) still live there. I live in Utah now. I know that Roland's father was William Henry Bunnell, but I don't have a correct birthdate on him. I would like to know that. I can see on my geneology chart that Roland also had a son William Henry Bunnell b. 1872 and d. 1965) My father remembers him. They called him uncle Henry. I also see that William Henry had a son William born around 1900. That must be who you're talking about. I guess we are related. I also have the same picture of my great grandfather and great grandmother Roland and Belle. I'd love to hear more from you. Sincerely, Sue Stringham

I have been doing my genealogy-in CT, am stumped by Joseph Bunnell who was born about 1764 in ,CT, married Esther Gilbert, lived in Weston, CT. I have been looking for his parents- and someone (I think Claude Bunnell) said maybe Solomon was his father. You don't list a Joseph as a son though. So I'm at a dead end there.

Joseph & Abiah are a different family according to http://bunnellbonnellburnellfamily.com (Claude's great website). I have my line traced straight back to Joseph & Esther Gilbert. Its quite possible his father was Solomon, although I have no proof. Good luck to you too.

L. Wellington Bunnell

This old pioneer is a native of New Hampshire, and came to this state in 1852. He engaged in mining at Rocky bar on the middle fork of Feather river, but shouldered his blankets and moved to the north fork the next season. Subsequently he engaged in ranching and merchandising with the late William H. Miller at Butte valley. October 12, 1869, he was married to Mrs. Julia E.
I am a descendant of Stephen Bunnell and wife Mary Daniels through subsequent Blackford and Duke marriages (1810-1915). Because I have learned that Stephen served in the Revolution War, I have researched his line heavily; I may have the wrong service specifics because DAR cannot find him. I'll keep looking. If you are interested in any of my Bunnell data, please contact me at pandjparker@verizon.net for more. Patricia Ross Parker
