Louisa A. HEATH b. 23 May 1829 married 22 Feb 1848 in Benton Co. MO to Rev. John L. BURCHARD. In 1847 Rev. Burchard was employed as a ‘supply’ on the Buffalo Methodist circuit, which included all of the country between the Pomme de Terre and Niangua and from Buffalo to the Osage River. He met and married Louisa and married at the Heath family home, west of Warsaw. In 1860 they moved their family to California,initially in San Francisco, then Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. They are enumerated in the 1860 census for Hamilton Twp, Butte Co. CA and living next door is her 24 yr old brother John Heath enumerated as ‘Jno Heath’. In 1900 they were living in the Santa Rosa Twp of Sonoma Co. CA.
Louisa Heath and John Burchard had 3 children:

Leonidas S. BURCHARD born 7 Jan 1851 MO who later married Mary MANUEL16 April 1884. In 1900 he was a physician living on Durant Street in Oakland, Alameda Co. CA. He died before 1910 as in the 1910 census Mary is living as a widow with her two children, still in Alameda Co. CA. In 1920 she is still living in Alameda Co.with Avis 28 and Ruth 24, neither girl married.

Daniel Webster Burchard b. 5 March 1858 MO m.31 Dec 1876 in Mendocino Co. CA 1. Mary Josephine BROADDUSS b. 23 Apr 1856 Nevada City, Nevada Co. CA. d. 31 Dec 1878 and is bured in Little Lake Cem.Willits, CA. She was the daughter of James Lafayette Broaddus b 1824 Madison Co. KY and his wife Missouri Jane Broaddus b 1830 Madison Co. KY
Daniel and 1st wife Mary (Broadduss) had 2 children:
Martha Mildred. BURCHARD b. 17 Nov 1877 Mendocino Co. CA
Mary Josephine Burchard b. 29 Dec 1878 Mendocino Co CA (living withmaternal grandparents in 1880).
Daniel Burchard m. 2nd Cora McComas 6 March 1881 and had two children with her. Both were born in MO. Cora was a daughter of Rush and Ann E. McComas who first lived in MO before moving on to Santa Clara Co., California. Daniel and Cora also moved to California. He was an attorney and they lived in Round Valley Twp, Mendocino Co. CA in 1880 and in San Jose, Santa Clara Co. in 1900. In 1900, two of Cora’s brothers, Allen McComas (b. 1872 CA) and Henry McComas (b. 1873 CA) were living in their household in San Jose.
