Joan Maria Notarione Burg, 72,
formerly of Erie,PA, died at Forestview on Wednesday,
April 9, 2008.
She was born May 2, 1935, the daughter of the late John L. and Victoria L. Rocco Notarione.

Joan attended Strong Vincent High School the class of 1954. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, shopping for the best bargains, taking rides around the peninsula, and she especially enjoyed her family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila A. Flemings, of Alexandria, Va.;
son-in-law, Gary; and granddaughter, Dominique, of Yorktown, Va.; and grandson, Johnny, of Newport News, Va.;
her companion, Mario Calvano, of Erie, Pa.;
along with a brother, John Notarione, Jr., and his wife, Susan;
and sister, Elaine C. Wasielewski, of Erie, Pa.;
including nieces, nephews, cousins
and especially her dear friend, Delores DeMichele.

Arrangements will be handled by Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, 602 W. 10th St. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St., Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501-2134, Forestview Skilled Nursing Center, 2301 Edinboro Rd., Erie, PA 16509, or the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505 in the name of Joan Burg
