Elmer Burgan, of Hackett, died early Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 1956, at Cresson State Hospital.
Mr. Burgan was born Sept. 9, 1888, in Monongahela, a son of Simon and Mary Lauderbaugh Burgan. He had worked as a coal miner at the Pittsburgh Coal Co., but was retired at the time of his death.
He was a member of Wright Methodist Church of Venetia, Moose Lodge No. 172 of Finleyville and the United Mine Workers of America, Local No. 3600, Muse.
He had been a resident of the Hackett-Finleyville district most of his life.
Surviving are his father, now residing in Charleroi; four brothers, John, Fayette City; Andrew, Venetia; Simon, Washington, and Edgar, Coraopolis; two sisters, Bertha Lycett, and Martha Frame, Washington
