January 29, 1903 my father Samuel Thompson Burgess was born at Philadelphia, Pa. He lived on Nantucket Island from 1911 till he died Oct 5, 1985.

I am compelled to post this to celebrate our dad was born 100 yrs ago.
Our dad was very special man, he raised three daughters without influence of the mother when she choose to leave.
Dad demonstrated moral intregrity, he has been gone 17 years but, Marie, Annette and Gloria-Irene are so grateful and miss him.


His father was Samuel T. Burgess born Dec 26, 1857 at Lebanon, Wilson Co, Tn. was Nantucket Police Chief died
on duty May 1926.

His mother was Wilberta Bent Devlan born Oct 17, 1876 at
Avon By Sea, N.J. died visiting us in N.Y. 1943.

My Uncle Ralph Emerson Burgess was born late 1800's was in U.S. Marines when he died 1931 stationed in Hati.
He left a widow and son, do not know anything about them
