John H Burgess, Corpl, Co K, 1USSS, buried Riverside cemetery, Tuscola County, Michigan. Burial record says b. 28 May 1836, to Merrick Burgess and Mary Brown, d. 2 Jan 1924, age 88y 7m 5d.
Wife, Charlotte Burgess, d. 3 Jun 1912, age 69, w/o John H Burgess, buried next to him.
1900 Tuscola County, Michigan, census says John H b. May 1837, and Charlotte b. May 1847, married 35 years.
Other census indicates John H Burgess was a grocery merchant living in Vassar, Michigan, for some time.
