James Caldwell Burgin (coley was his nickname he went by) was my GGG Grandpa. He was married to Delila Peck. They were married in Ladoga, Montgomery Co. Missouri. The info I got from My grandmother was that he was buried near Basher, Missouri. Their Children: Dennis Amze Burgin, Ulysses Sidney Grant Burgin( my GG Grandfather) and Simpson Caldwell Burgin.Delila was married to a a man with the last name Harrison and had a daughter named Nancy Jane Harrison. Acording to my grandmother Vivian Loretta Clark(Burgin) Simpson Coldwell was a Carpenter and helped build Springfield Mo. Largest Hotel at the time. Dennis Amze was a Boxer in Springfield, MO. and Grant was a Minister in the LDS church. I do not have any concrete evidence of the Cherokee blood line. but I too have always heard this same thing. My grandmother told me that Grant was full blooded Cherokee. My email is angelwhite716@gmail.com
