Hi,
I'm Alice Burgo, the sister of Donald Burgo. been working on family history for awhile. Joaquim de Burgo is a family name. Have you searched the census, 1920 & 1930's; Mass. death index shows a joaquim j burgo died 19 july 2000. we knew him as joe burgo, his wife was edith paul. they lived on spruce st in new bedford,ma.

I have cousins named nancy & jane e De Burgo, from Taunton, ma. their father was my uncle joaquim de burgo, he was born in brava about feb. 1908. he had married Carrie ???.

my grandfather is eugenio burgo from Brava. I met a John Burgo from so calif who had told me that all the burgo's from brava were all related...there were many burgo's in new bedford but to my knowledge we were not related to them..

Hi, Thanks for the response. What I've found is that my mother (Florinda De Burgo also known as Florence Burgo) was likely born out of wedlock. Her birth certificate from Attleboro, MA indicates she was born there. Her baptismal record from St Mary's, Hebronville,MA (now Seekonk, MA)indicates she was born in Cape Verde. In both records her parents are shown as Joaquim De Burgo and Magdelena or Margnelina (or some such variation) Gomes.

All of this occurred in 1908 and 1909. I'd like to find info on Florinda's (Florence's) parents but without a marriage record for them (Joaquim and Magdelena (aka Madeline) I'm pretty much at a dead end.

Are you researching the de Burgos? If so what is your connection to them?

Hi, there's a Joaquim J Burgo DOB 18 dec 1906 died 19 july 2000 in new bedford his death certificate # is 039233. He was married to Edith Paul. Info from Mass Death Index 1970-2003. put the parents names into the 1920 and 1930 census, as well as the death index. also try SSN death index.

DeBurgo (Burgo)born 1908.
Parents names were Joaquim Jose DeBurgo and Margnelina Emilia Gomes.
Probably from Brava, Cape Verde Islands.
I need the names of their parents before I can continue my search.

I don't know Donald. I have only her baptismal record. Other than her parents names I have only those of the sponsors. They were Quirino De Burgo and Ritha do Len Viera.

Am looking for info on Irene Delmer burgo. She married Frank Florea on Sept. 18, 1923 in Boundary Co. Idaho. Her fathers name is Charles her Mothers name is Margaret...unknown last name. Anyone who might have any information please respond to this posting. Irene was my grandmother.

in France Aug 5, don't know year. came to US
and settled in Saginaw Mi, died 1/24/1875
had son Robert (my g.g.grandfather) and 2 daughters
one Mary, one unknown and son John
Robert born 4/18/1840, Scotland
died 5/26/1907- Saginaw, Mi
Robert married Rachel MacDonald,
b.1841 Scotland? d. 12/5/1891 Saginaw, Mi
- don't know date, they had one daughter,
Ida Mae born 5/29/1874, died 8/24/1908 Saginaw
She married Frederick Green and they had 4
children, on was my grandmother, Gertrude.
They were orphaned by 1908 as Fred died
in 1906
