      <description>I'd be interested in hearing from any decendants of S. J. Burich who in 1920 was on the faculty of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa. I have a framed picture that has individual photos of each staff member from that year and he is included. Thanks.</description>

      <description>STRUTHERS, OHIO – Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell for Andrew G. Burich, 92, formerly of Campbell, Ohio who passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Andrew was born Aug. 23, 1916, in Hillsville, Pa., the son of the late George and Mary Panian Burich. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He attended Mohawk City Schools and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II in the 3rd Armored Division, and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge campaign. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Andrew worked at the Republic Steel Co. and later at LTV Steel Co. as a pipe fitter. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He was a member of the St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell, Ohio where he belonged to the Men’s Civics Club. He was a member of the American Legion Post 560 in Campbell and after retirement, he faithfully worked bingo and was a custodian at the church hall. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Andrew loved being with his family and friends. He took great pride in his Croatian heritage, enjoying the music and ethnic food. &lt;br&gt;He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, listening on the radio and watching on TV. He also enjoyed following the local area sports teams. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Stephen “Mickey” (Elaine) Burich of Struthers, Ohio; a daughter, Elaine (Joseph) Simione of Boardman, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Diana Burich of Struthers; grandchildren, Kristina (Patrick) Walsh, Michael and Darren Burich, and Eric, Anthony, Tina and Liane Simione; great-grandchild Dillon Walsh; and sisters-in-law Mary (Burich) Arbie and Helen Kovalan. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Blasko Burich, whom he married Aug. 14, 1943, and who died in 1989; his son, George Burich; sisters Fanny Medovich and Catherine Hvisdak; and a brother, John Burich. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The family would like to thank the residents of the Struthers Manor, where he resided for the last 19 years, for their friendship, kindness and help. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;A special thanks to Andrew’s godchild Renee for her medical help and support. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Burich family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Youngstown Vindicator&lt;br&gt;April 6, 2009&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;COURTESY POST&lt;br&gt;</description>

      <description>William Burich married a woman named Nellie Slezak (I think). I'm hoping we're talking about the same family. Some of William's brothers married daughters of Thomas Slezak, who is my grandfather's great uncles. They came from Bohemia in 1861.</description>

      <title>Obit: Peter John Burich</title>

      <description>FLAG&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;PETER JOHN BURICH Age 79 of Hobart, formerly of the Glen Park section of Gary passed away at home on Tuesday, December 28, 2004. Peter was a retired supervisor at U.S. Steel Gary Works in the electric shop. He was a former member of St. Mark Church, was a lifetime member of American Legion Glen Park Post #214 and a member of Knights of Columbus Msgr. Ryder Council #4047. He was also a member of the National Wildlife Federation and the Humane Society of the United States. Peter served during World War II with the Navy aboard the USS LST 636. He loved life and learning. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed poetry as well. Peter worked numerous crossword puzzles daily and often spent hours at the library. After retirement he took interest in the culinary arts and became a good cook. He enjoyed walking at Southlake Mall daily with all the mall walkers and his friends. He also loved nature and wildlife and loved fishing up north. Win or lose, he was an avid fan of the Bulls, Cubs and Bears. In his younger days, he was a good golfer and a follower of "Arnie's Army" and the "Golden Bear". Preceded in death by his wife, Mary. Survived by his only daughter, Paula Jayne Burich of Hobart. Peter was a devoted, loving husband and the best dad. He was a true and genuine friend to all who knew him. He was truly a fine human being. He had a great sense of humor and was kind to all he encountered. He was a true gentleman and touched the lives of so many. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Chris Zorich Foundation for Children and Needy Families, 47 West Polk Street, #100-268, Chicago, IL 60605 or to a charity of your preference.       <description>Obituary from Iowa Daily Press, October 29, 1904:&lt;br&gt;Loved Ones Summoned Hence&lt;br&gt;Severin J. Burich and Mrs. Davis Die.&lt;br&gt;Pioneer Tailor and Former Resident of Union Townshp Called Home - Well Known in Iowa City&lt;br&gt;     Severin J. Burich, the well-known veteran tailor, passed away this morning, death coming rather suddenly and unexpectedly, although the pioneer had been ill a week.&lt;br&gt;     He was 76 years of age and had lived at his homestead, at 704 East Jefferson street.&lt;br&gt;     He leaves a wife and seven grown children, with whom a host ofwarm rfiends [sic] will mourn sincerely.&lt;br&gt;     The funeral will take place Monday morning at 10 ‘clock from St. Wenceslaus church.&lt;br&gt;    A sad feature of Mr. Burich’s sudden summons is that it comes at a time, when he and his good wife were planning to celebrate in May, their golden wedding anniversary.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Located in 1880 Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa census, pg. 154D:&lt;br&gt;Severin J.
