Betty E. Hamilton, 81 of Dardanelle, died February 15, 2009 at the River Valley Medical Center.
The daughter of Jack and Stella Burkes, she was born March 7, 1927 in Dardanelle. She worked for more than 30 years for Illinois Bell Phone company. She was a member of hte Dardanelle Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMW. She enjoyed bowling, driving for Meals on Wheels, and working with Sharing and Caring of Dardanelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil O. Hamilton; brothers, James, Edward, Lewis, and R.L. "Tardy" Burkes; and sisters, Joyce Heflin and Jennetta Jenkins.
Survivors include daughter, Kay Bornman and husband, Bruce; son, Chuck Hailton and wife, Donna; three grandchildren, Sheila Borman, Jamie Farris and Amy Tucker.
A graveside memorial service was held February 19 at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Glover officiating.
Creamation arrangements under the direction of Humphery Funeral Service.
