Burkham -In Reno, Jan 17, 1945, Mrs. Mary L. Burkham; mother of C.B. Burkham of Reno; grandmother of Grant Holcomb jr., of Oakland, Calif., Lt. William R. Holcomb and F/O Tedd Holcomb of the army air corps, Mrs. James Leighy of Spokane, Wash., Lt. Com. Frank A. Burkham, USNR, Bert Burkham of Reno; a native of New York.
Private funeral services will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Ross-Burke chapel. Friends are requested not to send flowers.

Mrs. Burkham Taken by Death
Resident of the west since the early days, Mrs. Mary L. Burkham died Wednesday evening at a local hospital. She had lived in Reno for the past 15 years.
Born in New York, she moved with her parents to Bakersfield, Calif., where she attended school. She was married to Solomon B. Burkham and in 1879 they moved to the mining camp of Bodie. Mr. Burkham engaged in freighting wood and ore, and later was in the mercantile business. At one time he operated stages to Hawthorne, Bodie, Bridgeport, Carson, Glenbrook and Markleeville.
Mr. Burkham died in January, 1904, and two years later Mrs. Burkham moved to San Francisco where she lived until coming to Reno.
Surviving are a son, C.B. Burkham of Reno, and six grandchildren, Grant Holcomb, jr, of Oakland Calif., Lt. William R. Holcomb and F/O Ted Holcomb of the army air corps, Mrs. James Leighy of Spokane, Wash., Lt. Com. Frank A. Burkham of the USNR, and Bert Burkham of Reno. Five great-grandchildren also survive.
Private funeral services will be held Friday at the Ross-Burke chapel. The family has requested that no flowers be sent.
