Peter BURK(E) family-Mankato, Blue Earth Co., Minnesota

I am searching for any information for the Peter BURK(E), BIRK family of Mankato, Blue Earth Co., MN.
Peter BURK(E) b. 1846, Germany (possibly Prussia), said to have immigrated to the U.S. abt 1850. I do not know which port of entry and do not know the names of his parents or who it was he came with. He married Wilhelmina (aka Willmina, Minera) WILL(?) guessing around 1872. I am uncertain of Willmina's maiden name. I located the family on the Mankato, Blue Earth Co., MN (U.S.A) Census's from 1895-1920. They divorced sometime after 1900. They had 12 children, only 9 survivied. Two known daughters were that of Lena and Rosa (Rose) BURKE. Rose, my ggrandmother was b. May 10, 1888, Mankato City, Blue Earth Co., MN She married Orville KITCHEN and resided in Dickinson, Stark, Co., ND
I am at a brick wall and looking for anyone related to this BURK(E) Family of Mankato, Blue Earth Co. There may be some Minnesota native ancestry but only assuming at this point.
Children of Peter and Willmina (1895 Mankato, Blue Earth Co, Ward 01, MN Census)
May BURK b. 1874, MN
Emma BURK b. 1875 MN
Lena BURK b. 1879 MN
Joseph BURK b. 1882, MN
Frank BURK b. 1883
Lucy BURK, b 1885
Henrey BURK b. 1886, MN
Lizzi (Elizabeth) BURK b. 1887, MN
Rosa BURK, b. 1888, MN
Could this John Burk be any possible relation to a Peter BURK(E) or BIRK, b, 1846 Prussia Germany?
Peter immigrated to USA abt. 1850 with his parents (unknown), and resided in Mankato City, Blue Earth County, MN. Peter married Wihelmina WILL(?) abt 1871-2.
I located census's from 1895-1920, all of Mankato City, Blue Earth Co, MN. Sometime after the 1900 census, Peter and Willmina divorced. They had 12 children, only 9 survived. Rosa (Rose) BURKE, dau., b. May 10 1888 was my ggrandmother). She married Orville KITCHEN, and resided in Dickinson, Stark Co., ND. The BURKE family is new territory and I can surely use a bit of help.

I am interested in finding Collins' in Arkansas, My grandfather James Collins,Sr. was killed in a mill accident in Montgomery, Alabama in Nov. 1926. My father was only 4 yrs. old, and my grandmother couldn't remember him having any bros. or sis.. She said his family came from Arkansas to take him back for burial. His name she thinks was John Collins. Do you know of any similar incidents. I do not know where in Arkansas they were from. Thank you, Karen Collins Baxter

Re: Berry Maximillian Burks

This is in reply to Don Burks' old post from 2000. It's interesting that Berry Maximillian Burks commander, J.L. Harris, was also Burks' nephew (or half-nephew). Harris' parents were Thomas Harris and Lydia Jones Burks, older sister of Berry Maximillian Burks. Best I can tell, this Burks family had about 21 siblings and half-siblings, and at least 14 of them survived to adulthood. Probably quite a few more than that. Berry Burks' brothers who served in the CSA (that I know of) were:

***Benjamin Franklin Burks, Captain, Company F and/or S, 2nd Mississippi Cavalry, CSA***
and
***Thomas Jefferson Burks, Captain, Company K, 2nd Mississippi Cavalry (same company formerly commanded by nephew James Lyon Harris, who was killed May 28 with his brother at Battle of New Hope Church)***
and I believe another Burks brother, initials "J.P.".
***J.P. was a private in that same company K, enlisted late in the war by his brother, Captain Burks.***
I don't have a "J.P." listed among their brothers, maybe a cousin who lived in the same county.

I just thought this was interesting enough to add.

I am needing proof of William Robert Burks and Lenora Harris to son William Robert Burks and Mary Dunston and to their son William Gilbert Burks m. Permelia/Amelia Ann Friddell. I have the lineage proofs back to William Gilbert Burks. thanks, Larealia

A framed picture of Benjamin Alexander Burks b. 23 Sept 1827 in King and Queen County Virginia and d. 30 June 1910 in Richmond Virginia was found.
Hello,
My research in the Census indicates that Stonewall jackson Burks was the son of William Elijah Burks and Larvey (Laura) Palmer. The source for their names was my mother's baby book which my g.grandmother helped fill out. My unsourced information is that Larvey's parents were Harvey Palmer and Mary Ann Lambreth (or lambert). My g.grandmother was Stonewall's sister Lenora Arkane Burks. I would be happy to help you with your research.
Pamela Roberts Ashley

As I have found out thru researchimg the Cherokee tribe and thier customs, there has never been any "Indian Princess" in any of the seven clans. People were assisigned to "temporary" chief status, depending on the occasion but there was never a "Chief" per say. I am desparate to find out who "Chief Clem Burks" because my father and brother had both Clem and Burks as part of the Reaves name. Lee is also used as a middle name. There is a notation on a marker(?) in Oklahoma that mentions him but nothing else. He had a daughter Sarah Melvina Burks that married John A. Reaves.

My GGG is also Hosea Burks. One of his sons is James Arthur Burks. James had two sons, Rennie Arley and Ivyl Gleamond Burks. Ivyl had one son, James Harold Burks, my father. I'd be interested in hearing about the family line. BTW, Ivyl won an Acadamy Award for the special effects on the 1952 movie version of War of the Worlds.
jeffburks@earthlink.net

Does anyone have information on Martha Burks Clark born around 1844? I am trying to make a connection with the Burks from Franklin County Alabama area. Katie Burks Keelon always told my grandmother they were related. I am trying to figure out how they were related. Martha Burks Clark was my g-g-g grandmother.
