Thanks for the information on the Burlin family. The Thomas Richard Burlin family all grew up in the Houston area. I can't find anything on their parents. If you come across anything I would appreciate your letting me know.

I can't say for certain, I can only tell you what I have been told. The Burlins have been traced from Israel, moving to France (Burlan)- to Poland, Russia, Germany, and Czech with names like Burlinsky and Berlin. Most of the new world movement came during the Napoleonic Wars and the 1813 Russian occupation of Poland. Some went to Brazil some came to America. Our side (butchers from Poland) came over during this time and went to New York and Texas. I don't know very much about the ones who stayed in Texas; the majority moved to New York or California. My side moved to California- I think right before WWI- We moved to Fort Worth in the 1980's.

My grandson, David Richard Burlin, is looking for any information on his other grandfathers family. His grandfather was Thomas Richard Burlin, b)Oct. 28, 1922, d) Jan. 22, 1994. He married Wilma Raye Dillard, b)Apr 22, 1928, d)June 14, 1990.
Any information on their parents or family would be appreciated.

I am looking for infomation on my Burlin ancestors. They lived in Tennesse and Alabama. George Burlin, possiably killed his son in law. Robert, my 2nd great grandfather possibly drowned in Tennessee River about 1900s. George and Robert are brothers their parents are John and Sarah Morphis Burlin.

Looking for resting place for gravestone found on a street of Portsmouth, Oh in October. Would like to return it to the cemetery it probably came from. It is now in the care of the Greenlawn Cemetery, Portsmouth, OH. Name on the stone is: Foster Burlen. The only date on the stone is: Aug. 12, 1878.

I am looking for a little help in finding who my family is/are. I am 23 year old male my Grandfathers name was Gibby Burlin( but I think is real name was ORIZ ) he lived in Daily city. His first wife my Grandmother was named Betty Ames they had 1 daughter her name was Katherine Burlin. If anyone can send me in the wright direction. I would gratly appreciate there help. I most interested in my Jewish decent. I have come to a point in my life were religion and GOD have become very important to me and I would like to find out what my decendants paid such heavy tolls for.

my G-Granddad Sebastian Burlin, came to this country in 1847....evidently could not read or write---census taker changed it to Berling, then he bought property in Wisconsin, and they changed it to Birling! I have found 2 girls who says their names are Birling! TWO other relative came to this country--Jean Baptiste Burlen and Pierre Paul Burlen, their destination shown as New York.
if you have run into a dead end with Birling?Berling might just be--we are kin !
