Hello, Bea,
That's great - have been struggling to find anything much on the Burne side of family. My tree (Worrall Family Tree) is on this site - can I access yours? Otherwise, can you tell me anything about the family? I assume "your line" stayed in Portsmouth when JG emigrated? Which sister was your g/grandmother? I can only go back to Edward Burne born circa 1790 in (I think) Kingsdown, Ireland. Think he died in Liverpool but not sure as lots of Burnes there so don't know if I have the right one. Do you know any more?
I am really wanting to know what happened to my grandmother - Edith Laura Mary Burne (1881) - as she seems to have disappeared without trace after 1920. She was daughter of JG Burne (1858).
Judy

Abigail Burne in Glouster Co. NJ

I am seeking information on any of the following. Robert Turner lived in Woolwich, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Robert married Abigail Burne in Gloucester on January 8, 1738. Their children were Ebenezer married Ann, John m. Rebecca Leonard, Michael m. Ann Eastlack, Joseph (see below), Mereyall (Maryall) m. Hannah, Benjamin m. Sara Duffell, Margaret m. Daniel Carter, Mary m. Samuel Eastlack, Elizabeth m. William Dilkes, Sarah m. Mr. Styles, Susanna m. Mr. Porch, and Robert m. Joanna Richards.

The above information is from the book The Turner Family, compiled by Mrs. Edgar Hurff (Elizabeth Plummer Hurff). I saw the book in the Gloucester County Historical Society, Woodbury, New Jersey.

Joseph Turner married (1st) Charity Duffel in 1779. I believe Charity died. Joseph Turner married (2nd) Sarah West at the Trinity P.E. Church in Swedesboro, NJ on December 4, 1783. Joseph and Sarah had a daughter Rachel Turner born on September 22, 1784 and died November 22, 1834. Rachel married Thomas Ogden on January 18, 1810. Thomas was born on July 1, 1790 and died on May 17, 1841.

The children of Thomas Ogden and Rachel Turner were Elizabeth Speakman Ogden (born August 11, 1816, died March 22, 1883 Philadelphia, married Israel Stratton), Mary Fletcher Ogden, and Harriet Barnard Ogden.

I am seeking information on Robert Turner, Abigail Burne, Joseph Turner, Sarah West, Rachel Turner, Thomas Ogden, Elizabeth Speakman Ogden, or Israel Stratton.
I am seeking any information on my GGGF Henry Tudor Burne and his family. I have one sone (my GGF) Alfred Bodycote Burne and possibly his brother Sir Owen Tudor Burne.

The latter apparently wrote a family history in the late 19C tracing the family back to Norman times when they were known as de Leyburn (or similar names.)
Hi, Michael! The name Lydia Burne has popped up in connection with a Drew line that my cousin and I are researching. Lydia Burne was married to John Thomas Henry Drew in 1828, and they had a son born around 1831 who was John Thomas Henry Drew, Jr. I'm wondering if she might be a sister or cousin to Henry Thomas...? She would have been born around the same time, and some Drews of this line were living in and around London. Can't wait to hear from you!

Anybody have info on a Winifred Burne? She married Thomas Guilfoyle and had a daughter named Catherine Guilfoyle (maybe other children too, but I don't know). Catherine was born in 1832 and eventually moved to the U.S. where she married Phanton McEvoy and lived in Lawrence, MA.
