Edgar C. Burnham
Edgar C. Burnham, age 83, of Findley Lake, New York
passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Care Center Erie, Pennsylvania. He was born on July 25, 1925 in Ripley, N.Y. to Arthur and Gertrude (Taylor ) Burnham. Edgar was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement he had been a truck driver and mechanic for many years. After his retirement he worked at Peek N’ Peak until he became ill. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nora (Stoddard) Burnham, daughter, Candice Burnham, son, Steven Burnham of San Diego, Calif. and daughter, Cynthia Cross. He is also survived by his brother, John (Joann) Burnham of Banning, Calif. and three granddaughters, Stephanie (Tracy) Sweeney, Lauren Rothenberger and Nadine (Sean) Merry and two great-granddaughters, Sydney Merry and Reagan Lee Sweeney. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Emily Sears and Alice Ackley. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 4, 2009 at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, with Judy Stoddard, officiating. Burial will be in Grahamville Cemetery, North East, Pa.
