Deaths (01/11/00) BURNS _ Emmett Francis passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2000 at Surrey Memorial Hospital following a stroke. Emmett will be sadly missed by his loving family: Kae, wife of 60 years, four sons, Bob (Darlene) of Richmond, B.C., Bill (Silvia) of Cloverdale, B.C., John (Sonjia) of Camrose, Alberta, Jim (Claire) of Kelowna, B.C. and daughter Patty deBoer (Marc) of White Rock, B.C. Emmett was predeceased by his brothers John, Cornelius and Wilfred and is survived by his sister, Eleanor, and sister-in-law, Elsa, both of Regina. Emmett was born in Vancouver on May 19th, 1915, the son of John Christopher Burns and Joanna Eleanor McAuliffe. He was raised in Regina and spent 34 years with J.I. Case Company working in Winnipeg, Brandon, and Calgary before retiring to Tsawwassen in 1973. Dad was a great leader as demonstrated by his life of faith, devotion to his family, and dedication to his church and the community. After retiring Dad had three great loves: golf, woodworking and his eleven grandchildren: Danielle, Christine, Michelle, Sarah, Edward, Jeffery, Hazel, Mary, Brian, Alexandra and Connor. Dad was loved and highly respected by all who knew him. We'll miss you Grandpa! A funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 on Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser Hwy., Langley, B.C.
