I am descended from Swanny Burrus thru my maternal grandmother. This family has a reunion in odd numbered years at Lake Barkley Lodge in Kentucky in July or August. I remember being at one of those reunions many years ago when the subject of names came up. Someone asked how many people in the room had the name Swan or Swanney as part of their name and about 20 people raised their hands. I have talked with many of those but no one has ever said anything to me about where our original Swanny got his name. I will be happy to ask this coming summer at the next reunion but I am not hopeful that any one will know.

I also have the birth date for Ann in my records. It was entered in my software progam in 2001 before I was entering accurate source information. I will go back to my paper records when I have a chance and see if I can tell where I got it from.
