I dont know about Frances, but I have Burslems in my tree. Ann Hurlston Burslem, she had a brother Wilkinson Burslem, he had a son William Francis Burslem, also Ann married William Darbyshire and had a son who they also called William Francis. They were all from Congleton, Cheshire, just outside Manchester. Dont know if this is any help.

do you know the name of her husband? My great grandmother was a burslem and Frances may have married her brother John(bn c.1871)seems unlikely! or maybe Johns son? (if he had one!) a wild guess but the name is quite rare and I thought there may be a connection somewhere ...

Hello,

Through a stroke of good luck I was able to get the immigration records for my grandmother, great aunt and ggrandmother to Canada.

The closest next-of-kin to my grandmother and great aunt is their sister, a Mrs. Burslem. My ggrandmother's entry has a Mrs. Burslem, daughter. In all three entries Mrs. Burslem is living at 7 Wilson St., Stretford, Manchester, England.

My mother's name was Marjorie Gibb. Her sister's name that went with her to Canada was Annie Gibb. Their parent's names were James and Frances Gibb.

If any of this sounds familiar I'd love to have contact with anyone related.

Best regards,

Jim Jackson
