Hi Simon,

My name is Kerry and I am from Australia.
I have a great grandmother who is named Jane Sarah Burwood. She was born abt 1875-76 in Surrey (I think) and her father was a Henry Burwood (packing case maker)this is what was written on her marriage cert (1901) she married Frank Edgar Boone of London (my great grandfather)

I have been having a lot of trouble finding her and I think her name could well have been Sarah jane not Jane sarah. or maybe she used both. Not sure. If you have any information at all I would appreciate it.

Hi Susan,

I am related only by the fact that Minnie was married to my grandmother's brother Henry Charles. I have a photograph that I believe shows Henry and Minnie on their wedding day.

Hi, I am searching for any living relatives of Minnie Burwood she had a son Kenneth Charles Burwood who died I think in 2001. They lived in Great Yarmouth in Melrose Terrace. Minnie was my grandmothers sister and I would love to trace any living relatives.

Hi Simon,

I hope you may be able to help me. On the 1841 Census, my ancestor Rosetta Matts (sometimes transcribed as Mats and Mutts depending on whose site you look at) lived with a Robert and Angelina Burwood in Church Gardens Tower Hamlets.

As my family has numerous lighterman, waterman, river policemen, stevedores, can you tell if the following surnames crop up in your tree?: Matts, Pope, Cox, Graham

Hi Simon, and any other Burwood's still out there,
I too am an East End Burwood - on my mother's side.

I've only recently rekindled my interest so I was excited to find that someone has managed to trace William Burwood b. 1736 (son of William, grandson of David) through his mother, Thomasin Arnold, and his maternal grandmother Elizabeth Aldous way back to 1400!

All my relations are related to David Burwood who married Rose Coleman in Great Yarmouth, before moving to East London in the late 1700s ( I am writing this all from memory, so I am at work and all my reserch is at home, so I might be a little out). I am a descendant of the Suffolk Burwoods - My ancestor moved from Lowestoft to London back in the 1700s and started the London branch - they were all waterman/lighterman on the Thames. His name was William (son of David) and he was born 1711

Realise you posted message years ago however have only just been put on to this site! Are you still there?
We have been tracing Burwoods for some time - my grandmother was one and my father had the burwood name (Burwood-Churchill). We are related to Aldburgh and Orford Burwoods and would be grateful for any info you have. Have been in contact with Alec Burwood who has filled in some info for us.
