Anyone help?

My grandfather was James Busby born 1889 Hockley Warks, England. Died 05/12/1925. He was married 29/01/1916 at St Michael's Oldbury, England (to Agnes Smart). I have his birth, marriage and death certificates.

But trying to track him back, all I can find is an entry in the 1901 census, which shows him living at Tiverton Road, Smethwick. His parents were shown (in 1901) as William (59) and Harriet (41). His siblings were Phillis (10), Rose (7), Hilda (5), and Lucy (1).

I can't track William Busby anywhere. I know towards the end of his life he lived in or near Pool Road, Smethwick. And he looked after the pool in the nearby park. But nothing apart from this 1901 entry.

William's birthplace is shown as "Aboard ship (Irish Sea)" in the 1901 census entry.

Anyone help a beginner, struggling to get going?

Mike Brough (William's gread grandson)
