1889 census in Oakfield, Maine lists Emelie C.A. Elliott, age 20's, as mother of Ethel E. A. Gerrish - married to Charles Gerrish. States Emelie's parents were from Pennsylvania --
Emelie died when daughter was about 3 years old and Charles Gerrish and Ethel moved to South Dakota and later when Ethel was in her teens she went to live with "Uncle"
Winthrop Bussell in Eau Claire, Wisconsin - I think Emelie's name was Emelie Caroline Augusta -- I have Land Patent records for Winthrop for the 1870's.
