Hi my name is Paul Bussell, and I have changed my internet user name, so this is an update at long last.
Interested in finding Bussell relatives both in Devon & Somerset who were related to the above.
Have done research myself at the Exeter Record Office over the years, but cannot find this relatives father also a Robert Bussell b: 1775 married to a Sarah d:1839 aged 40.

John D. Bussell married Dorothy Muriel Thompson.....at the Holy Child Jesus Church in Richmond Hills, LII., New York City..Queens.....on May 4th 1949, in the presence of Elizabeth Bussell and Arthur Bussell, by Rev. Edward P. Hogan. They divorced in Tuscaloosa Ala on October 29th 1951. The couple had 3 children, Barbara Elizabeth Bussell, Carol Jean Bussell and Bruce John Bussell. After the divorce John and Dorothy( Ethel..on the birth certificate) never spoke or saw each other again. my 3rd grt grandaunt Elizabeth price married thomas russell from curland in somerset in 1817 in St martins Caerphilly Glamorgan. they had 3 children for definite. Thomas Price Russell abt 1826 in machen monmouthshire or llantrisant Glamorgan. later the surname changed to Bussell(after 1841 census), John hare abt 1828 and Sarah abt 1835.
thomas junior married Martha Davies christmas day 1852 in cardiff. John married Mary Richard in 1861 in bristol, Sarah married her cousin James in 1864
any info on these families appreicated.

No connection here, but could not resist adding some data. I named my son John Thomas Bussell. He is currently serving in the Navy, CPO out of Little Creek, Va. Also, my dad was Francis Thomas Bussell (1909-1998). His birth records lost in fire and he changed name to Frank Thomas Bussell.

Jason Bussell and mother, Cyntha Prindle relocate to IA by 1870 and Cyntha is married to Russel Rufus Goodwin by that time.

In the Ancestry.com 1880 United States Federal Census there is a Mary E. Bussell that was married to Ephram Killion (my GG Grandfather) I believe she had a brother named Jessee and a sister named Janie> This was in Center Sebastian Ark.. There was also George J. Bussell tied into my family .

I am researching my Grandfather, James Henry Bussell, who has been my brick wall for years. B. Dec 1864, d. May 1951. Family lore: My father, Harvey Bussell, stated: "Pa was orphaned by the Civil War." Do not have James Henry's father's name but his mother's name was Mary/Polly, older brother Presley. Last evidence of mother & Brother are Calhoun Co., MS census - 1880. Saw your info on Thomas E. Bussell. Have you any further info? Will be happy to share any info I have.

Great grandfather came over from England in 1879 and started a business in RI. Grand father born in LI, NY, father born in Ct. as I was. I migrated to Tenn, Oak Ridge area in 1963, raised two children there and then in 1986 moved down into Ga. So, no connection with you all, but did enjoy the photos.

I have this "Original" photo and was told that the lady sitting on the "Right" was Lucinda (Susan) "Lucy" (SPEARS) Bussell (born: abt 1855 - died bet 1920-1925), the 1st wife of Thomas Bussell (2/8/1848 - 10/10/1933). The lady sitting on the "Left" was her daughter, Sarah Lucinda "Cinda" (BUSSELL) Ford-Oaks (8/3/1882 - died abt 1920). Man standing on the "Left" was Samuel D. "Sam" Bussell (12/26/1879 - 8/10/1910), and man standing on the "Right" was John Amon Bussell (10/19/1877 - 1/24/1961).

I have 100+ family photographs of Thomas Bussell and his descendants, from both his marriages, and willing to share with family members if contacted.

In addition to my previous message, I think that I have found James William Bussell's father, Elihu Bussell. However, I can find info on Elihu, but none that will link him to James William. If anybody recognizes the name Elihu Bussell, please contact me, I would be so thankful. He was believed to have been born in 1832.

Just yesterday (4-23-2006), I was in Breckenridge, Texas. I went to Wayland Cemetery, which is South of Breckenridge. Richard Bussell is buried there, along with 2 of his grandsons. Information I found on their tombstones is as follows.R. Bussellb. January 5, 1830d. January 27, 1885W.C. Sandersb. May 17, 1881d. February 14, 1885Wm. Bussellb. August 17, 1886d. January 12, 1888W.C. Sanders, I believe was a son of John H. Sanders and Mary Marcella Bussell Sanders.Wm. Bussell was the son of James Presley Bussell and Calvin Josephine Sanders Bussell.

George Henry Bussell, 81, Hopkinsville, Ky., died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

The funeral will be held at noon, Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry Greenwade officiating.

Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Gamble Funeral Home.

Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I am looking for more information on my Grandfather's line. His name is Max Cecil Bussell (5-26-1914 in OR or WA through 1983 in CA), but he was very young when his mother re-married and he changed it to Max Cecil Montgomery. His mother's name was Jessie Reed and we believe his father's name was Cecil Max Bussell. I cannot find anything on him. Has anyone found anything that recent on a Max Bussell or Cecil Max Bussell?

Correction to the above. I now have more information:

My grandfather's name is Cecil Max Bussell, but he cahnged it to Montgomery when he was a child and went by Max.

His father was Cecil Roselvo Bussell who was married to his Mother Jessie Reed (Reed, Montgomery, Bates) at the time of his birth, but divorced shortly thereafter. Cecil later married Hazel, and enlisted/was drafted into the military in Oct. 22, 1918 and died of "pneumonia" at 22 years old on Nov 6, 1918. Cecil was born in Walla Walla, Washington on Jan. 27, 1896.

I am seeking information on the parents of Cecil Roselvo Bussell. Anyone have any Cecil R. Bussell's as children on their tree?

Emelie died when daughter was about 3 years old and Charles Gerrish and Ethel moved to South Dakota and later when Ethel was in her teens she went to live with "Uncle"

I have six original studio photos of Bussell ancestors, from the area of Necedah (Juneau Co.) WI, which I would like to get back to family members.

Photo of James Bussell is addressed “To Agnes and Harry, from Father”, and was taken about 1900. James looks about age 60 in the photo. I found James B. Bussell in the 1910 Necedah, Juneau Co. census, age 65, a widow, born in England.

Photo of Harry Bussell was taken about 1900, and shows a man about age 25. It was taken by the M.L. & K.Williams Studio in Necedah. I found Harry, with wife Agnes, in the 1920 Necedah census. Harry was 45 and Agnes, 44.

Photo of William and Nina Bussell, taken about 1925, shows them pictured with “Mrs. Stillson”. William and Nina look about 50, and Mrs. Stillson is about age 70. I found William H. and Nina in the 1910 Necedah census, not far from James. William was born England, and was age 27; Nina was 27, born WI. In 1920 Necedah census, their children were Cecil, Cornelius (same child as Norman A. in 1910?), and Elizabeth.

The Mrs. Stillson in the photo could well have been Ellen L, wife of A. D. Stillson, and she was born Aug 1852 in NY, per 1900 census.

In the other three photos are:
- “Mr. and Mrs. Scorse, Mrs. Nell Riley, Grandma Stillson, and Elizabeth Bussell”, taken about 1930;
- Photo taken in “1934” of Mrs. Scorse, Beth Bussell, Mr. Scorse, Grandma Stillson (now about age 80), Mrs. Demarest and Mrs. Noyes;
- Kathryn Young, Elizabeth Bussell, Lulu Price, Marguerite Manthey, Florence Cates, Elizabeth Spencer, Helen Young, Rhea Cates, and William Bussell with Mrs. William Bussell.

Mary and Henry are buried side by side at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lovilia, Union Twp, Monroe County, Iowa.

Lovilia is about 60 miles SE of Des Moines on Iowa State Road 5.

2 of Henry's brothers, Michael and John are also buried at Woodlawn. Their father, Michael, is buried in Osburn Cemetery about 2 miles east of Lovilia.

Their father Michael is the brother of my 3rd great grandfather, David Hittle. Michael and David's father was George Michael Hittel jr, and his father was George Michael Hÿttel, who is listed on passenger list 52, a,b and c, ship Winter Galley, arriving at Port of Philadelphia, Sept. 5, 1738.

Wooo! I believe "some" of this information is wrong. Please check your data and see if your message about the wives of Thomas Bussell is correct. I believe his 1st wife was Lucy SPEARS, and his 2nd wife was Sarah DUNCAN. I may be wrong but I don't think so because of the dates of the kids, etc. My records show Thomas and Lucy SPEARS getting married on July 27, 1867, not Sarah DUNCAN, his 2nd wife. Like I said, I may be wrong but don't think so.

Grave Re-Location by TN_DOT for making I-40

I am a descendant of Thomas Bussell and his first wife, Lucy SPEARS Bussell.

I need some help with this possible lead. Can ANYONE direct me or have access to a list of name/graves that was re-located?

I have searched for many years for my grandmother and great grandmother's graves, and was recently given a possible solution, and that is, when the TN Highway Dept. moved graves and/or Caskets, in order to make way for I-40, they relocated the ones I am searching.

How is it possible for me to get access to a list of those individuals?

This would have been cemeteries along what is now I-40, from Monterey, to on past Baxter and Silver Point and Buffalo Valley area in the Putnam County area.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Arhtur F Bussell married Elizabeth / 5 children

Arthur F Bussell and his wife Elizabeth lived in a house on 117th street, house # 87-46 in Richmond Hills, New York. They had 5 children but most only know of 4 their first child died very young. Their other children are as follows.....Arthur F Bussell JR, Elizabeth (other wise known as "Betty") then there was John D. (the D stands for Daniel) but most knew him as "Jack" and the youngest was Edmond. I do have SSN on three but I am unable to find John's. I did find out that Arthur died in Florida, and that Elizabeth never married but worked as an executive secretary for Con Edison in Manhattan......if anyone is interested in these Bussell's please write me mmcgr10644@cox.net Michelle

I have found my great grandparents, Arthur F Bussell who married Elizabeth.....they had 5 children one of which died at a very early age. The others are Arthur F Bussell JR, Elizabeth (known as "Betty', Edmond the youngest and then there was John D. Bussell known to friends as "Jack" The children are originaly from Richmon Hills,New York.....I think Elizabeth never married, Arthur JR died in Florida.....I have not been able to find any real info on John D. Bussell who is my Grandfather

I have located information on Bussell's that resided in Richmond Hills, New York. I found Arthur F Bussell (born in Mass) married to Elizabeth Bussell ( don't have her maiden name but was born in New York) They had 5 children one of which died very early......the other children are Arthur F. Bussell JR, Elizabeth "Betty" Bussell, John D. Bussell and Edmond Bussell. They lived in a house located on 117th Street and according to the census records the house # 87-46 across from a school. I have been able to locate SSN on Arthur, Edmond & Elizabeth but I have not been able to locate info on John except that he was born in New York along with the other children...John was born around 1914......I am beginning to think he is still alive at 92 years of age.
