I think there is a connection with my wife's Cordova ancestors, but I can't supply hard evidence. Mariana Bustos married Felix Cordova around 1868 in New Mexico. In the 1870 Census Jesus and Casiana are living next door to my wife's GG grandfather and some of his children in San Lorenzo, NM. My wife also has Lujans in her family. The census has Jesus and Casiana married in April of 1870. Church records show them getting married in 1891 in Silver City, NM, LDS Batch M528652.

Jesus and Mariana were both born in Chihuahua so I doubt the father was in Pinos Altos before they were born.

Let me know what you have. I lose track of the family after 1870.

Regards. Dave Nelson, Folsom, CA.

If they are going to change my posted name from "Aveli" to "comments165", why do I need to click on their link and change my user name???

Come to think of it . . . the email is not using my registered email address.

From my research, the Bustos first appeared in New Mexico in the late 1600s when the Spanish migrated North. My family history seems to include both Grant County, New Mexico and Taos, New Mexico. The Bustos surname appears to be Spanish in origin and may also be Sephardic. Many Spaniards immigrated to the New World to avoid the Inquisition.
Hey everyone! I haven't been around much lately, but I'm back now.
I read all the messages posted here. Hope everyone gets connected soon.
I have found that Estanislada Bustos mother went by several last names such as: Eulogia Armijo, Eulogia Bustos. . . obvious, but then there are Eulogia Bingham and Eulogia Venancia/Benancia. It is Venancia/Benancia that she used for her marriage to Francisco Baca, her first husband, who was a widower with several children when she married him. The marriage is listed around the area of Hilsboro, New Mexico; which is south of Socorro and close to Silver City, New Mexico.
Well that's all I have for now. Everyone keep digging! Also, I have a new email than the one listed in my last message.
