John Butcher is my great great grandfather. He was first a dry goods merchant then a brewer who owned Jefferson Street Brewery in Newport KY. He later partnered with then sold to George Wiedemann. His first wife Catherine is my gg grandmother. They married on 13 May, 1849 at the St. Johns German Evangelical Church in Newport KY. Their first child, and eldest daughter, Anna Barbara Butcher Freyer (1850-1922)is my great grandmother. Anna and Christian Freyer had five children (one dying in infancy) with Anna Catherine Freyer (1881-1957)being my grandmother. I have a picture of this family group taken when the older children were in their late teens. Anna and Charles Griffis Westfall had three children, the youngest, my father, Charles Richard Westfall.
