Last Rites Held For William Buttke
Funeral services for William Buttke, 81, life-long resident of the town of Stettin who died Monday morning at 12:40 o’clock at the home of his son, Fred Buttke, in the town of Marathon, was held Thursday morning at 11:30 o’clock at the home of his son and at 12 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran church in the town of Stettin. The Rev. P. Martin Pilz officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.
The deceased was born September 25, 1858, in the town of Stettin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Buttke. He was one of the first children born in that town. He was married to Emily Weinke, who died in November, 1916. He retired from farming in 1930 and had been ailing the past year. Surviving are four children, Fred Buttke, and Mrs. Fred Seehafer, town of Stettin, Mrs. William Heise, town of Rib Falls, and Mrs. Fred Hoeppner, 310 S. Ninth Ave, Wausau, three brothers, Herman an Chris Buttke
