Ok i was able to find out a little bit more about my grandmother. Her name is Emma Butts. But her maiden name is Hill and she was from Georgia. What city i don't know. She was African American and was told she was part Cheeroke indian. But don't know that to be fact yet. She married my grandfather Emmett Butts and they lived in Des Moines IA. Their children's names are...My uncle whom passed away Truman Butts who married Dorthy. I beliveve her maiden name is Haygood but i am not for certain. Then there is my uncle Alfred Butts whom is married to Jennifer Shade, and my father William Butts. My aunts names are... Sharon & Sissy whom passed away. And Barbara. There may be more and i just don't know who they are. My grandfather Emmett Butts later married Maragite. I am uncertain of her maiden name.All my aunts and uncles and father were born and raised in Des Moines Iowa as far as i know. I hope the information i just posted will trigger somebody's memory and knowledge in hopes of still trying to find long lost family members.Black,White,Indian,Mixed I want to get to know and hopefully someday meet.Even if there are any people with the last name Butts who may just want to conversate 'm open to it. We may not be closely related but I know the Butts Family is a BIG Family all across the US and I'm sure somewhere down the line we are related regaurdless of our races.
