I am trying to trace my Butts/Butz roots in Berks Co. PA. I have a William Butz who had a brother Christian and they had a forge in NJ and Berks Co., PA. I may be a direct descendant ot William & Magdelena of Berks Co.A as I have records of the Goshenhoppen Catholic church there and the names of some children of theirs who were baptized. The only proved record I have is of John Henry Butts of Franklin Co. whose father,William was buried in Fredrick, MD, by 2nd. wife, Magdalene, was buried by Dubois the clergy, as the record is very old and writing is bad. They were Catholic. John Henry also worked at a forge in Franklin Co. PA, so that is the common thread. William and brother Christian were in the Rev. War together. Any similarities here?
