Ms. Crockard,

I am researching my Grandfather and Grandmother. He was killed in the Mather mine explosion, Jan (John) Wrobleski (The town memorial has his name mispelled.) was my Grandfather. His wife, Waldyslava, or "Valtee" as she was known, was left with five children under age 14, the youngest being my father.

After his death my Grandmother lived for several years with the Vikas family in Jefferson.

I was wondering if you are aware of any resources that might be available to us, such as company records or anything of that nature. I have the original insurance settlement from the company that my Grandmother kept. It shows them receiving a few hundred dollars several years after the explosion.

I'd appreciate anything you might know, or could point me toward.

Thanks!

Jim Wrobleski
