The first superintendent of Saxman Coal & Coke Company was E.S. Buzzard, who moved to Saxman West Virginia from Armstrong County Pennsylvania in the early 1900's. He was born about 1855 and was married to Elizabeth Emmeline Swartz. They had four children: Ray, Bill, Alda, and, C.E. (Clint) Buzzard. The E.S. stands for Elwood Sherman. This is the family that I am researching. For more info look at the Saxman Coal web site I suggested earlier. Some of the info and photos have been provided by the decendents of Clinton Buzzard. I believe he and his wife are buried in Summerville West Virginia, but I would have to verify with my father-in-law.
