I am trying to find out if Thomas Bybee 1689-1729 was married
to Elizabeth Beaufort( Beauford). And then who her parents
are. And John Bybee was married to 3 women Sarah, Judith, and Jane Giles, or was he married to one named Sarah Judith Giles?
I am trying to figure out a Bybee/Giles connection in my tree
and a 7th Great grand aunt's connection to another line (Wheeler) that merges with mine through Bybee. Thanks for any
help!

Cathy

Hi, I'm a bit late reading these posts, but have had a successful dna match with two persons on the Family Tree Familyfinder dna project. Both via the Bybee lineages. One was Susanna Evans m Buford Allee s/o David Allee and Charity Bybee.

I DO recommend the dna project!
Betty

Hi Sharon, Thanks so much for getting back to me.My BYBEE bunch were in Tennessee or Kentucky, depending which census you refer too. I believe your James is the same James Bybee that is one and the same that was brother to my GR GR Grandpa, Adam Bybee. Both sons of Sherod Bybee and Nancy Royal. My problem of finding anything earlier is that there were so many "Sherods" in this family. After leaving TN/KY, this family settled in White /Independence Counties of Arkansas.I know that my Adam would stay in AR,but his brother James and other siblings would head to Texas.
My James -

Birth: 1818
TN/KY
Death:
Texas
Son of Sherod Bybee and Nancy Royal.

Married -

Mary Cook June 19, 1838 White Co AR (Mary Cook dies bef 1858)

Eliz Post 28 Jan 1858 Sulphur Springs, Montgomery Co AR
(Eliz dies betw 1858 and 1863).

Mary Post(sister to Eliz) 06 Aug 1863 Sulphur Springs, Montgomery Co AR

Please send me an invite, as I do not subscribe to ancestry.
two different versions of Will of Thomas Bybe (Bybee) 1729/1730 Goochland Co VA

There have been two different versions of the Will of Thomas Bybe (Bybee) reported. The two different versions have important differences. Does anyone know which version is correct? Was daughter Elizabeth married before or after Thomas wrote his Will??

One transcript reports the Will as having been written on Nov. 4, 1729 and names only one daughter: Eliz. Bybe.

http://www.kykinfolk.com/clark/family/fr007-bybee.htm

"This fourth day of November Anno Domn. 1729 I Thomas Bybe of St. James Parish in Goochland County being sick in Body..."

"I give unto my daughter Eliza. Bybe one young heifer two...dishes & two..."

The other transcript reports the Will as having been written on Nov. 11, 1729 and names two daughters; Elizabeth Webb and Judith Bybe.

p.161 Will of Thomas Bybe of St. James Parish, Goochland Co.,
11 Nov. 1729, "sick in body"
To son John, 1 shilling
To son Thomas, grey mare & colt, 2 guns, all my working tools
and wearing clothes
To daughter Elizabeth Webb, 1 shilling
To daughter Judith Bybe, heifer and some pewter
All the rest to wife Elizabeth, and she and my loving son John
Webb to be executors
Wit: Edw'd White, Ruth (X) Hilton
Signed: Thomas Bybe
Recorded 17 Feb. 1729

Please note: This pre-1752 "(Old Style)" date of 17 Feb. 1729 (when the Will was recorded) after 11 Nov. 1729 (when the Will was written) is not an error. It is what we would call 17 Feb. 1730 by the current "New Style" calendar. Up until 1752 the year started on March 25th, not January 1st.

http://www.cree.name/genuki/dates.htm

Hi Holly,
Yes, I am very aware of this line, although haven't done much research beyond 1760. A recent YDNA test of 67 markers on my Biby line matched exactly to a descendant of the John Bybee (1735-1821) line, son of John Bybee born 1705. Now I know that I am barking up the right tree! Many have always thought that many of the Biby, Bybee, and Bibee lines are related and this certainly proves it. If more Bibys, Bybees, Bibees, Bibbys, Bibey, etc. were to be tested, we might be able to expand and sort out additional lines.

I believe my line descends from Thomas Bybee born 1760 to John Bybee and Jean Giles. I am still trying to find the complete papertrail that will connect the Thomas Biby born on 1760 to my line. I believe this Thomas is the father of my 3rd greatgrandfather below.

Micajah Biby (Son)
b. Bet. 1781-1790, Probably Albemarle Co., VA
d. Bef 1840, Probably Augusta Co., VA
m. 06 Mar 1818, Augusta Co.,VA, USA (marriage bond)
Spouse: Mary (Ballew) Buckner (widow)

If you would like to know more about my line and additional theories of relationship, please email me directly at
JLBIBY@gmail.com

I am looking for Susan Bybee birthdate 8/15/1956. She was adopted by Isaac and Jean Bybee of lamar County Texas. I have recently learned that Isaac and Jean split up at some point and Susan went with her. Isaac Woodrow Bybee died in Jan. of 1997 and is buried in Union Grove Cemetery in Paris Tx. I have not been able to track down Jean Bybee or Susan Bybee it is possible that they both have married and have different names.

Hello Roger,
I have a bunch of information on your Soens side of your family. I am also in contact with a cousin of yours that I am sure would love to connect with you and exchange family history. For the past several years I have been collecting and organizing all of the information on the Soens families from the south east Wisconsin area. It looks like our two Soens families may be related because they were both from Dahlem Germany and both moved to Racine. And the only Soens families around in the United States in the 1800's were in south east Wi. There has to be a connection somewhere.
You can email me back at darindubinsky@gmail.com

DNA Testing for Biby, Bibee, Bybee

Can anyone tell me if there is any DNA testing going on to connect these three surnames (Biby, Bibee, Bybee) and possibly others? I have looked at the Family Tree DNA for the Beebe surname, etc. but don't think that is the correct one for my Biby line. My line goes back to Virgiia to about 1760. It is possible that my line descended from Thomas Biby who was born to John Biby and the Giles wives? A Thomas Biby was in Augusta Co. in the early 1800's and I believe he has roots in Augusta, Rockbrige and Albemarle counties. I have three Biby males that are willing to be tested. Two are cousins from their great grandfathers and the other is the father of one of the cousins. He is 95.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Also, if there is no testing going on with any of the DNA companies, perhaps we could start one.
Do you have any other information you can share? Birth date, birth place, birth mother, etc. Some states have relaxed thier adoption laws and will allow children of adoption to check birth records. You might want to check that angle.

Good luck in your search.

Jan et all
The Absolom Bybee 1808 mentioned is the son of Lee Allen Bybee 1780 & Jerusha Atikerson, Lee is son of John Bybee II 1736 & Elizabeth McCann, then John Bybee I & Sarah Judith Jane Giles. Lee Allen's brother John Bybee III is my line thru his son Byram.
I can send you any ancestry/descendancy info you would want. From info I have on your family...your gg-grandparents are William Bybee b.@1833, Kentucky & Phoebe Riggan.
I have yet to connect William but undoubtedly he is a cousin to Lee Allen & Byram. I have several Bybees from Kentucky from 1780-1840 who I cannot connect but must all be related. There are a lot of Bybees who settled in Indiana
email me direct for any info you would want
Leslie Fowers
Bybee Cousin Finder Organization
lpfgen1946@msn.com

It would be interesting to have this infromation.

My Bybees are from Indiana, Hendricks county, but I have never been able to make a connection to this line.

Jan Flowers

Are you still doing ancestry? I have had a lot go on since the last I was on ancestry site. I am still working on family history, and have a lot of gaps to fill in. Do you have photos that can be scanned into printer and sent? I am really getting big on pictures.
Later,
Becky
