Hi, I am a Byrge originally and am trying to find any information I can. My grandfather was Virgil Byrge, son of Cholatus Byrge. Any information would be appreciated and chances are - we may be related :).

Also, I have heard that there is an annual Byrge reunion, is this true and if so, where can I get information?

Thank you for the reply. I was able to contact his daughter,Lucy and obtain a copy of the book and updates.

I agree Neal was a gem and i just hope someone in the line will pick up the torch and carry his work on for future generations to enjoy.

Hi, Both of Neal Byrge's sons are dead now but his two daughters are still living in FL. I can find out and let you know about purchasing a book. It is a copyrighted publication. I had the pleasure of visiting with Neal when he came to our home about six months before he passed away. The Byrge family lost a true "Gem" when we lost Neal. He was a walking treasure of Byrge geneology. I hope you are able to acquire a copy of this book.

Nannie passed away about 25 years ago. My sisters are Lavena, Thelma, and Evelyn. Brother is Mack and I am Mel Byrge. I still live in Tucson and remember you your sister and your mother. Those were definitely hard time. Hope things are well.

I have checked the book for a copy right or a printers name and there is none listed. Suggest you contact Neal Byrge's son. Neal Byrge's listed address was 4413 W. Rogers Avenue, Tampa, FL 33611-5629. The book is and interesting read and will be a good one to pass down to your children if any. Let me know how you do. Good luck

My grandmohter was Mattie-Betty Byrge born Nov. 10th 1929 and died Nov. 10th 1998 daughter of Lindy Byrge born in 1907 and died Feb. 12th 1981 in Rockwood Tn. and Jack Byrge born June 1st 1903 and died May 25th 1938. Jack and Lindy Byrge was married May 18th 1925. Lindy Byrge's parents where Jasper Byrge and Jane Phillips. Jack Byrge's parents was Henry Byrge and Lucretia-Creasy Tackett. Lucretia parents was Ike Tackett and Susan Phillips. My grandmother told us that her father's (Jack Byrge) father (Henry Byrge) was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. If anyone has any information on this, I would be very greatful.

i have tried to e-mail you but it comes backto me maybe you can e-mail me if you feel like it. here is the information i have, i cant comfirm that memphis was even born to nancy byrge, but she was married to a james mcghee in campbell county in 1898. james supposedly died in a mental institution from being kicked in the head from a horse. memphis died in 1977 before i could ask him any thing about it. my granda thelma juanita lethgo mcghee died in 1967 in hamilton ohio as did my grandpa. i do know they were married in 1939 in combs ky.my main e-mail is lunsford0410@fuse.net thank- you barb

My great-grandfather was Narve Byrge. He came to Wisconsin from Norway in between 1860 and 1870. I was surprised to see so many Byrges in TN. I don't think we are related to anyone there. Are the Byrges in Tennessee from Norwegian descent also?

Hi James/Jim, my fathers name was James E Byrge he died in August of 2001. It was creepy to see his name on the net. I live in Campbell County too. My grandfather was Tom Byrge.

I'm looking for any information on my grat grandmother. She was married at one time to a Woody Biggs. I'm not sure if Byrge/Burge was her maden name. She had a son named Luther Edward Biggs that died in 1977 in Tennessee. There were other children from this marriage from my understanding. If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it. my mom was first cousin with nannie byrge lived on 6th st in tucson az her daughterwas thelma and son was mack her moms na,e was amy wallace my mom was amy trusty(lewis) she died in tucson medical center1975 wish someone would say something no hard feelings just lets figure this all out so our children dont have to do all this by themselves OK?
