As I mentioned in an earlier post, my Byrne family originally came from Ireland to Nova Scotia via Newfoundland. A cousin tells me that the Byrne family originally emigrated to Burin, Newfoundland.
While they kept the Byrne spelling for a while, my Grandfather's generation went by the name Burns in Nova Scotia. They predominately lived in Guysborough County.
