Hi,
I am the granddaughter of Hilda! She lived most of her life in W.Ham, but moved to Erith. She married Jack Barnes, but he left her and she spent the rest of her life as a single mum, she wouldn't divorce him as she was a strict catholic. She had 7 children. He went on to live with someone else and apart from a telegram on her wedding day, my mum never heard from him again. Sad stuff.
