Greetings. One prominent descendant of the Caban family from Lares is composer Ketty Cabán, whose real name is Rafaela Cabán Rosa. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, but her father, agroindustrial and politician Francisco Galeno Cabán Lugo was born in Lares. His mother was Evarista Cabán Lugo, who later moved to Utuado. She had three other children: Pedro, Pablo and Adela Cabán Lugo. Francisco Galeno was born in 1880. Pedro in 1883. Adela follows him and Pablo is the youngest.
Pedro was a policeman and lost contact with the rest of the family.
Adela Cabán Lugo married Eladio Delgado, from San Sebastián, and lived in the central plaza of Lares for years.
Pablo had a drugstore in Utuado, where he spent his adult years and died there.

Francisco Galeno is reputed to have been the person who paid the "fianza" of Pedro Albizu Campos, when the latter was prosecuted in 1936, after the Masacre of Ponce. My email is: sedafatima@gmail.com.
