Hi Linda Kirby Branum,
I saw your message posting here and had some questions that I hope you can answer;
1. You stated that; "Martha (Martin) Cabaness was the 2nd wife of GEORGE CABANESS, b. Sept. 15, 1782, married on March 23, 1828 - was the Mother of Sanford W. Cabaness, b. Dec. 10, 1820 in Rutherford Co., NC, d. Aug. 31, 1864, NC."
"Also, that Sanford had lived in Talledaga Co., AL."

Question #1. If George and martha were married on Mar. 23, 1828, - and Sanford was born Dec. 10, 1820 -
that was 8 years before they were married??? Right???______
Wrong???__________.

Question #2. Are you sure about Sanford's birth date?_______
If so, he would have been born just 2 years after my Joshua
Cabbiness/Cabiness/Cabaness - which I have been hunting for several years. The ages would have been right for brothers and sisters that age. The location of where he may have lived -
in Talladago Co. could have been possible also.

NOTE: I am still searching for JOSHUA C. CABBINESS/Cabiness/Cabaness ??? who was born in 1818 (as per his gravestone) and was married Oct. 15, 1842 in Macon Co., AL (which is near Talladago Co., AL).
I have not been able to find his parents/brothers or sisters.
He later moved to Upshur Co., TX, along with his wife's family, Jessie Mings. There were a lot of Cabiness/Cabbiness who located in or near Upshur Co., TX. Also, a lot of MINGS.

You stated that the information abour Talladago Co., was given to you by another cousin. Can you tell me who that cousin was? Is there a chance that Joshua could have been a brother to your Sanford ? If the marriage date is wrong or George and Martha were married before Joshua was born in 1818. ???

Did you find the birthdate of Martha? Would she have been old enough to have had Joshua? Have you found a Census for Talladago Co., for near the time thy would have lived there?

Any help would be appreciated. I guess I am just jumping at "straws". I have been looking for so long.
