Can you offer some documentation? I'm one of those hard heads who wants to see the actual paper trail. The headright was for Henri, his first wife, his 2nd wife Magdalene and her daughter Magdalene. Henry, the son, did not get a headright. This suggests this son might have been born aboard the ship on the voyage. The headrights were for people for whom Henri had paid the cost of passage. I've wondered why he paid for Magdalene and her daughter. It is possible Henri acquired the right to this headright because he married Magdalene. I'll have to spend some time with Henings and see what the law of the time was. Henri couldn't get the headrights earlier because there had not previously been a law giving citizenship to the Huguenots of Manakin. Do you have marriage records for Henri's marriages? -------Jo
