any thing you would have would be most helpful. I know that Mary was born in New Jersey but in doing reserch there I could not find a birth certificate or marrage certificate. Could also not find a marrage certificate in NY.

I do know my. Family was connected with the wire company in brooklyn my fathers middle name is william and I believe we came over in the early 1800s my aunt has most of the records going back to that point

I am looking for info on my g-grandfather, James Martine Provost. According to my uncle, in the late 16th or early 17th century, a group of French Protestants left France and moved to Scotland. One such family, the Provoosts (later changed to Provost) married a Scottish lady of the Cabble family. They moved to America. One member was Samuel Provost. My grandmother named my dad William Provost Cabble Breck and all her other sons had middle names of previous relatives. James Martine later changed his last name from Provost to Kershaw. I am looking for info on Minetta Cable. She was born about 1870/71 in Iowa. Her parents are from Ohio. I have no info on her parents or her whereabouts prior to the 1910 Census.

As per my listing below, I have now located the family in 1881 in Twerton, then in 1891 they were in Barry, Wales, then 1901, again in Barry, Wales. In each census, Charles is working as a Mason. We have now found that they had the following children, Sidney John born 1873 in Bath, Ernest Charles born 1887 in Bristol, Annie Louisa born 1879 in Bath, Herbert William born 1881 in Bath, Mabel Eunice born 1884 in Merriott, Lilian born 1886 in Wincanton, William born 1888 in Langport, Emily born 1892 in Barry, Wales, Henry James H born 1893 in Barry, Wales, and Annie Elizabeth born in 1896 in Barry, Wales.
As I have said above, I have located the family in the 1901 census, living in Barry, Wales, but after that,, I cannot locate them anywhere.
I have looked for the deaths of both Charles and Anna Cabble, and have searched up until the year that they would have been 101 years of age,, but nothing. I have looked for their children being married, or deaths, again, nothing. It would SEEM likely that the entire family migrated, but again, at all sites that I have checked, there is not anything to be found. If anyone out there recognises these names, please make contact, preferably directly at frankandlaurie@aumarire.co.nz or through this web site.

Charles Cabble born Somerset married to Anna nee Rendall

The above Charles born 1853 in Queen Camel, Somerset ( according to the 1881 census) married in 1873 to Anna, born 1854 and they had 3 children that I know of at the moment, Sidney John born 1873 in Bath, Ernest Charles born 1877 Bristol and Annie Louisa born 1879 in Bristol. I have located this family living in Twerton, Somerset in 1881 census, but for the life of me I cannot find them after that, even with trying all sorts of spelling of their names. Does anyone have any ideas, connection.

hi sue, yes william did have a cable wire/hoop skirt business in brooklyn ny he was my grandma florence cabbles uncle. his home in brooklyn was known as one of the 14, it survived until sometime in late 1880s it was a mansion with a large front yard for greeting family and business cohorts. I think his brother was henry valentine cabble, and Harry Cabble ps they did have a home in massachusetts, and one of them went to michigan, not sure which, patti

hi, i do find him in the census a few times in manhasset. the family wire works was in brooklyn. they were a prolific family named kids after each other it gets a little confusing. but they did originate in england. william started the business in brooklyn, they had a fire moved atleast once. the wireworks mfgd the hooped skirt frames women wore then springs for couches cars etc

I have an Arthur Robert Cabble, b. 28 Mar 1887 in England, came to the US at age 3 with parents Benjamin and Sarah Hunt Cabble. This Arthur married Adeline Florence Smith, Arthur and second wife Mildred D. Gray, (my line) lived in the Detroit, MI area. Could this be the same Arthur you are looking for?

hello cousin, my mom jean reuss was the dtr of florence cabble the family was in the wire business on maujer st. my mom remembered visiting the family business many times. her grandad was harry cousin to william, they did branch out to several locations, michigan for instance where as the skirt hoops declined theymade springs for the auto cars yes they came from england, believe the isle of rite is correct. pattii

Hi, Charles!

I was trying to locate a Frank Cabble, born in Manhasset, LI, in the 1930's, son of Frank and Ida Cabble. I don't know where they came from originally. I heard that Frank, Jr., moved to VA and then returned to LI in the late 1900's.

When I saw that your Cabbles were from NY - I thought that there might be a connection.

the last of three boys he was born in 1908.My Grandfather was named william he married Mary Gallott on December 24, 189? Before that it is scratchy as family did not document anything and family who would know are long gone.

My Grandfather was William Cabble. I have been told that
at some time they were involved with the Cabble wire
but I also remember hearing that it was in
Massachuttes. There is no one else left to verify this.
My Grandfather had a brother named James and
a sister named Jen. I was told that the family
